LEWIS COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT
Preliminary appearances
• Qwynn R. Fowler, 24, Centralia, made a preliminary appearance in Lewis County Superior Court on Dec. 1 for one count each of second-degree theft and second-degree retail theft after allegedly stealing over $800 worth of merchandise across 34 separate transactions while working as an employee at the Chehalis Walmart, according to court documents. Fowler was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond with standard conditions pending the resolution of his case. An arraignment was scheduled for Dec. 11.
• James M. Wright, 66, Toledo, made a preliminary appearance in Lewis County Superior Court on Dec. 1 for one count each of second-degree burglary, first-degree malicious mischief and third-degree theft after allegedly ramming into a convenience store in Mary’s Corner with his Ford F-150 before stealing four packs of cigarettes from behind the counter, according to court documents. Wright was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond with standard conditions pending the resolution of his case. An arraignment was scheduled for Dec. 11.
Sentencings
• Larencia M. Moore, 23, Centralia, was sentenced Nov. 24 to one year and five months in prison after pleading guilty to one count each of first-degree computer trespassing, second-degree theft, third-degree theft, second-degree criminal trespassing and possession of a controlled substance while in a county or local correctional facility. Moore was previously accused of stealing cash, accessing someone’s phone to send money and using that person’s debit card to order food.
CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Tupou Leung-Wa, 34, Seattle, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for possession of narcotics with intent to deliver, after Leung-Wa was allegedly found in possession of a “dealer weight” of methamphetamine upon being arrested for alleged third-degree theft in the 1400 block of Lum Road at about 11:11 a.m. Dec. 3. Charges were later declined, according to court documents.
Accidents
• A two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1100 block of View Avenue at about 9:47 a.m. Dec. 4. No injuries were noted.
Disorderly conduct
• Zachary Davis, 36, Centralia, was arrested and released for disorderly conduct in the 2400 block of Fords Prairie Avenue at about 3:49 p.m. Dec. 3 after allegedly making statements to citizens that could have incited a fight.
Harassment
• Threats of violence to a local business employee were reported in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue at about 5:46 p.m. Dec. 3. The case is under investigation.
Possession of a controlled substance
• Cindy Conner, 53, Seattle, was referred to the Centralia Municipal Court for possession of a controlled substance after police, upon executing a search warrant, allegedly located illicit narcotics inside her vehicle in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 8:26 p.m. Dec. 3.
Protection order violation
• A protection order violation was reported in the 100 block of Virginia Drive at about 10:26 a.m. Dec. 3. The case is under investigation.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Accidents
• A two-vehicle, non-blocking collision occurred at the corner of North National Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way at about 2:41 p.m. Dec. 1. No injuries were reported.
• A hit-and-run in which a red Ford Explorer allegedly hit a pedestrian was reported at the corner of Southwest 20th Street and South Market Boulevard at about 6:41 a.m. Dec. 4. According to the report, the pedestrian walked away and refused aid or law enforcement.
Assault
• Nicole M. Keeling, 39, Chehalis, was allegedly issued a criminal citation for an incident regarding a reported assault in the 1300 block of Northwest Airport Road at about 2:44 a.m. Dec. 2.
Criminal trespassing
• Trespassing was reported in the 200 block of Northwest Park Street at about 7:38 a.m. Dec. 1.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Dec. 4, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 158 inmates, including 145 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 115 were reported male and 30 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Dec. 5, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 18 inmates. Of those, four were from Centralia, four were from the Department of Corrections, one was from Chehalis, one was from Elma and one was from Napavine. Additionally, there were two inmates from the Quileute Nation and one each from the Skokomish Tribe, Suquamish Tribe, Shoalwater Bay Tribe, Tulalip Tribe and Lummi Nation.
