Sirens: 'Walking Into Oncoming Traffic': Man 'Half-Pulls' a Knife; Beer, Clothing Stolen

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• Clothing was reported stolen from an outlet story in the 1400 block of Lum Road at 5 p.m. on Sept. 28. The suspect fled in a maroon/purple early 2000s model Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban with no license plates.

• A half case of beer was reported stolen from a convenience store in the 200 block of Downing Road just before 8:05 p.m. on Sept. 28. The suspect fled in a silver-colored vehicle.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 10 block of Northeast Median Street just after 3:10 p.m. on Sept. 28.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 6:10 p.m. on Sept. 29.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just before 6:10 p.m. on Sept. 29.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Southwest Riverside Drive and state Route 6 just after 8:40 p.m. on Sept. 29.

 

Trespassing

• Just after 3:55 p.m. on Sept. 28, a caller said a subject was possibly trespassing on a property in the 1300 block of Southwest Johnson Avenue, where the door to a shed had been recently damaged. The caller asked the officer questions regarding “use of deadly force against a possible home invasion.” No arrests were made.

• A man was reportedly walking back and forth in front of a business in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 28 “pounding on windows and yelling for money.” The man was trespassed from the property.

• A male subject who was reportedly “yelling and throwing sticks around” on his bicycle was trespassed from a park in the 2500 block of North National Avenue at 1:10 p.m. on Sept. 29.

• A disorderly subject was trespassed from a property in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way at 1:50 p.m. on Sept. 29.

 



Assault

• Just after 5:50 p.m. on Sept. 28, a caller reported a subject “hit him in the groin” in the 1500 block of North National Avenue. No arrests were made.

 

Theft

• A bag of Miracle Grow soil was reported stolen from the 1000 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue just after 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 28.

 

Juvenile Problem

• A 12-year-old student was reportedly “walking into oncoming traffic” in the 2000 block of Southwest Salsbury Avenue at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 29. No injuries were reported.

 

Disputes

• A possible dispute was reported at a bus stop at the intersection of Southwest Third Street and South Market Boulevard just after 9:35 p.m. on Sept. 28. The caller reported she “thought” she heard a gunshot. No arrests were made.

• A man reportedly “half-pulled a knife” on a woman in front of her children in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just before 11:50 a.m. on Sept. 29. No arrests were made.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 175 inmates, including 167 in the general population and eight in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 144 were reported male and 23 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, six were reported male and two were reported female.
