Sirens: Vehicle Prowls; Shoplifting; Assaults

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Vehicle Theft and Recovery 

• At 7:10 a.m. on Aug. 26, a vehicle reported stolen out of Chehalis earlier that day was recovered in the 100 block of East Hanson Street. 

• An attempted vehicle theft was reported in the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard just after 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 26. 

• Jake A. Reinitz, 25, of Centralia, was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for a driving under the influence charge in the 1800 block of North Pearl Street just before 7 a.m. on Aug. 27 after he reportedly fled from a stolen vehicle. The vehicle’s other occupants fled the scene on foot and have not yet been identified. The vehicle was recovered and the case is under investigation. 

• A red 1997 Honda Accord was reported stolen from the 300 block of West Sixth Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 27. 

Vehicle Prowl 

• Just after 7:45 a.m. on Aug. 28, a vehicle prowl that occurred in the 700 block of South Silver Street sometime overnight was reported.

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue just after 12:45 p.m. on Aug. 28.  

Shoplifting 

• A case of shoplifting reported in the 400 block of East Summa Street just after 3:50 p.m. on Aug. 27 is under investigation. 

• A Seattle woman was arrested in the 1400 block of Lum Road at approximately 6:10 p.m. on Aug. 27 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly shoplifting over $1,200 in merchandise from an outlet store. 

Other Theft 

• A Centralia man was cited for taking items from another person’s chair in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue just after 11:15 a.m. on Aug. 27.

• A landscaping tree was reported stolen from the 2400 block of North Pearl Street just after 7:20 p.m. on Aug. 27. 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of West Main Street and North Washington Avenue at 10:05 a.m. on Aug. 26. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 3 p.m. on Aug. 26. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of West Fourth and H streets just after 2:25 p.m. on Aug. 28. 

Hit-and-Run 

• A Bonney Lake man was referred to the prosecutor’s office for possible eluding, hit-and-run to an attended vehicle and obstructing a law enforcement officer charges after he failed to stop during a traffic stop at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and southbound Interstate 5 just after 12:25 p.m. on Au. 26, crashing his vehicle into another vehicle and then fleeing the scene on foot. 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1200 block of West Plum Street just before 2:55 p.m. on Aug. 27. 

Assault 

• A Graham woman was arrested in the 110 block of West Maple Street just before 4 p.m. on Aug. 26 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, after she punched her significant other in the lobby of the Centralia Police Department. 

• A subject was arrested in the 1800 block of Taylor Street at 11:20 p.m. on Aug. 26 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault. 

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 100 block of South Pearl Street at 10:50 a.m. on Aug. 27 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault after he was reportedly involved in a physical dispute at George Washington Park. 

Trespassing 

• A woman was trespassed from a transit station in the 900 block of Old Airport Road just after 5:50 p.m. on Aug. 26 after she reportedly spit on a security person. 

• A man was trespassed from a restaurant in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue just after 8:20 p.m. on Aug. 26 after he reportedly left numerous trash items on the property. 

• A Centralia man was cited for trespassing at a property in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 8:40 p.m. on Aug. 28. 

Malicious Mischief 

• Graffiti was reported on the exterior of a business in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue just after 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 26.  

• An unidentified suspect reportedly broke out a car window in the 500 block of Woodland Avenue at 8:55 p.m. on Aug. 27. 

• Damage to a vehicle in the 100 block of West Magnolia Street was reported just after 10:10 a.m. on Aug. 28. 

Harassment 



• A Centralia man was arrested in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue at approximately 8:35 p.m. on Aug. 27 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail on harassment charges after he allegedly smashed the window out of a car and threatened the owner. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license. 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Vehicle Prowl 

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 100 block of Ribelin Road at 7:35 a.m. on Aug. 26. 

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 100 block of Ribelin Road at 7:40 a.m. on Aug. 26. 

• Two subjects were cited for alleged vehicle prowling in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 9:25 a.m. on Aug. 26. 

• A vehicle prowl reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just before 12:05 p.m. on Aug. 27 is under investigation. 

• Mail was reported stolen out of a vehicle at the intersection of Northwest Folsom Street and Northwest Ohio Avenue just after 2:20 p.m. on Aug. 27. 

Vehicle Accidents 

• Just after 8 a.m. on Aug. 25, a non-injury, two-vehicle accident that occurred in the 100 block of North Market Boulevard around 6 a.m. that morning was reported. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way and North National Avenue just before 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 26. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 600 block of Southeast Dobson Court at 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 28. 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run was reported in a school parking lot at the intersection of Southwest 17th Street and South Market Boulevard just after 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 26. 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A disorderly subject was trespassed from a property in the 1200 block of Northwest State Avenue just after 2:50 p.m. on Aug. 26. 

• A disorderly subject was trespassed from a business in the 1200 block of South Market Boulevard just after 12:05 p.m. on Aug. 27. 

Indecent Exposure 

• A man was cited for indecent exposure after he allegedly “pulled his dick out” in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 4:55 p.m. on Aug. 26. 

Suspicious Circumstances 

• Just after 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 26, a caller reported three people were standing on the corner of Southwest Cascade Avenue and Southwest Second Street and said it “looks like they are up to no good.” Officers found no one in the area when they responded. 

• A subject in a red Ford F150 was reportedly “unbinding shelves and cutting them apart” in the 100 block of Sturdevant Road at approximately 6:55 a.m. on Aug. 27. 

• A man reportedly tried to enter multiple residences in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 28. No arrests were made. 

Malicious Mischief 

• Just before 12:20 p.m. on Aug. 27, chains and locks to a parked trailer in the 700 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue were reported to have been cut sometime overnight. 

Assault 

• A Chehalis man was arrested in the 600 block of Southeast Dobson Court at 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 28 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree assault, domestic violence, after he allegedly attacked someone with a knife. The Chronicle is not releasing the man’s name at this time to protect the identity of the alleged victim. 

• An assault reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 6:05 p.m. on Aug. 28 is under investigation. 

• A case of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, was reported in the 500 block of Southwest 16th Street just after 11:20 p.m. on Aug. 28. No arrests were made. 

Dispute 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 28. 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS 

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 183 inmates, including 165 in the general population and 18 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 136 were reported male and 29 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 15 were reported male and three were reported female.
