Sirens: Two charged for stolen snowboards; juvenile on scooter struck in crosswalk; lie about dog leads to criminal citation

LEWIS COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT

Preliminary appearances

• Adrian Gallegos Reyna, 21, and Angel Pimentel Vasquez, 19, of Union Gap, made out-of-custody preliminary appearances March 3 for one count of second-degree theft and two counts of third-degree theft after they allegedly stole four snowboards worth a total of approximately $2,500 at a ski lodge in Lewis County. Arraignments were scheduled for March 12.

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Trevor K. Durham, 34, Sequim, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for allegedly possessing open liquor in public in the 1200 block of Mellen Street at about 9:30 p.m. March 2. Police said Durham had previously been warned.

• Shawn Holzmeister, 40, Olympia, was arrested and booked for criminal trespass, resisting arrest, use or delivery of drug paraphernalia and failure to obey a police officer after police allegedly found him walking on BNSF property on South Tower Avenue at about 3:19 a.m. March 4.

Accidents

• Officers investigated a hit-and-run collision in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue at about 9 a.m. March 2. A juvenile reported being struck while riding a scooter through the crosswalk. Police said the juvenile suffered minor injuries. The case remains under investigation.

• A vehicle collided with a building in the 500 block of West Main Street at about 1:14 p.m. March 3. No injuries were reported.

Drug paraphernalia

• TJ Davis, 27, was arrested and booked for an outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrant and alleged use or delivery of drug paraphernalia in the 100 block of East Cherry Street at about 1:53 a.m. March 4.

Making false statements

• Beverly Clark, 57, Centralia, was issued a criminal citation for making false statements to a public servant at the corner of E Street and West Third Street at about 8 p.m. March 3 after she allegedly lied to an officer about the ownership of a dog she claimed to have found, in order to relinquish her ownership. Police do not accept owner-forfeited pets into the department shelter.

Open container

• A 54-year-old Centralia resident was issued citations for an open container violation and camping on city property/parks (second offense) after police allegedly found him sleeping on a city sidewalk with malt liquor in his possession in the 200 block of North Tower Avenue at about 8:42 p.m. March 3.

Pornography

• Officers received a report in the 200 block of West Main Street at about 2:44 p.m. March 2 concerning a subject sending an inappropriate video to several unwanted individuals. The case is under investigation.

Theft



• Theft of property from a local store was reported in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at about 2:29 p.m. March 2. The case is under investigation.

• Shoplifting was reported in the 2300 block of North Pearl Street at about 11:05 a.m. March 3. Police said the suspect left prior to their arrival. The case is under investigation.

• A suspect allegedly siphoned gasoline from a vehicle’s gas tank, damaging the vehicle, in the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard at about 12:28 p.m. March 3. The case is under investigation.

Vehicle theft

• A recreational vehicle was reported stolen in the 1200 block of Delaware Avenue at about 10:24 a.m. March 3. The vehicle was reportedly recovered in Auburn.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Don Gonzales was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree criminal trespass in the 1500 block of North National Avenue at about 9:03 a.m. March 2.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of March 4, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 171 inmates, including 158 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 136 were reported male and 22 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of March 4, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 12 inmates. Of those, five were from Centralia, one was from Chehalis and four were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there was one each from the Skokomish Tribe and the Suquamish Tribe.
