Sirens: Two arrests after family dispute; license plates stolen from vehicles; extortion attempt under investigation

License plates stolen

• License plates were stolen from a vehicle in the 2000 block of North Pearl Street, a caller reported at 10:37 a.m. Dec. 22.

• A front license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of East Summa Street at 11:46 a.m. Dec. 22.

Two arrested after family dispute

• Brylee M. Morgan, 23, of Centralia, was arrested for allegedly damaging property of another person after officers responded to the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road at about 9:26 p.m. Dec. 22 for a report of a family dispute. Rane L. Cook, 49, of Centralia, was also arrested after allegedly being involved in a physical altercation with a family member.

Extortion

• Officers are investigating an extortion case where the suspect demanded money to not leak information. The report was made at 12:37 p.m. Dec. 22 in the 2000 block of North Pearl Street.  This case is under active investigation.

Retail theft



• Officers responded to a theft of property from a department store at 5:01 p.m. Dec. 22 in the 100 block of West High Street. The suspect left prior to police arrival.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Dec. 23, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 150 inmates, including 137 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 109 were reported male and 28 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Dec. 23, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 16 inmates. Of those, six were from Centralia, three were from the Department of Corrections, two were from Chehalis and one was from Elma. Additionally, there was one inmate each from the Quileute Nation, Suquamish Tribe, Tulalip Tribe and Lummi Nation.
