Sirens: Suspects in sophisticated criminal operation, high-speed chase, rape of child sentenced in Lewis County Superior Court

Sentencings

• Florisma Hyppolite, 30, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was sentenced to two years and less than one month in prison and 12 months of community custody Sept. 8 after pleading guilty to one count of first-degree identity theft, one count of first-degree theft, two counts of second-degree identity theft and two counts of second-degree possession of stolen property. Five additional charges were dismissed. Hyppolite was accused of traveling to Washington from the southeast United States to carry out a sophisticated criminal operation that involved defrauding individuals out of thousands of dollars through bank transactions. • Carl W. Rakos, 48, Edgewood, was sentenced to six years and six months in prison Sept. 17 after pleading guilty to one count each of second-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, possession of a stolen firearm, second-degree possession of stolen property and possession of a stolen vehicle. The jail will calculate credit for time served. Three additional counts were dismissed. Rakos was arrested and charged for his involvement in an interrupted burglary and high-speed chase from Lewis County to Thurston County that resulted in the seizure of multiple firearms and two Jaws of Life devices. • Tyler A. Reeves, 32, Centralia, was sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison and 12 months of community custody Sept. 23 after pleading guilty by way of a Barr plea and Alford plea to three counts of third-degree assault and one count of third-degree assault of a child. • Dimitrius Daniels, 26, Fort Lauderdale, was sentenced to one year and ten months in prison —  with credit for time served — and 12 months of community custody Sept. 24 after pleading guilty to one count of second-degree possession of stolen property, one count of forgery and four counts of second-degree identity theft. • Shea C. McDaniel, 35, Ocean Shores, was sentenced to two years, two months in prison and two years, 10 months in community custody Sept. 24 after pleading guilty to two counts of third-degree rape of a child. • Austen C. Vermillion, 19, Centralia, was sentenced to six months in prison with 12 months of community custody Sept. 24 after pleading guilty to charges of second-degree assault, third-degree assault and second-degree malicious mischief. Vermillion was charged after he allegedly threw rocks at another man’s windshield before putting him in a headlock and biting him. CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Zachary P. Davis, 35, Centralia, was arrested for allegedly taking property from a local store without paying for it in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 8:02 p.m Sept. 23. He also had an alleged outstanding felony warrant from Thurston County Sheriff’s Office. Upon entry into the jail, Davis was allegedly found to be hiding suspected narcotics in his pants.

• Jashanpreet Singh, 19, Chehalis, was arrested in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 11:20 p.m. Sept. 23 after allegations that he forcibly sexually assaulted another person.

• Mitchell K. Davis, 38, Toledo, was arrested in the 300 block of North Gold Street at about 2:56 a.m. Sept. 24 after allegedly being involved in a hit-and-run collision. Once located, he was allegedly found to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor.

• Don Gonzales, 36, Chehalis, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged trespassing at 916 Harrison Ave. at about 1:45 a.m. Sept. 26.

Accidents



• Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the corner of West Bridge Street and Harrison Avenue at about 12:30 p.m. Sept. 24.

• Officers responded to a subject hit by a bicycle in a crosswalk at the corner of Harrison Avenue and Alexander Street at about 7:55 p.m. Sept. 24. The allegedly at-fault bicyclist was cited.

Theft

• A bicycle was reported stolen in the 300 block of East Pear Street at about 7:07 a.m. Sept. 24.

• A business reported a theft of unknown items in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at about 7:21 p.m. Sept. 25.

Criminal trespass

• Two subjects from Chehalis were trespassed from a local store in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at about 6:22 p.m. Sept. 24.

• A transient from Morton was trespassed from a local business in the 1200 block of Mellen Street at about 2:53 a.m. Sept. 25.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

• The Chehalis Police Department has not yet released its most recent call reports. Look for updated information in an upcoming edition of The Chronicle and at chronline.com when the reports are made available.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Sept. 26, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 165 inmates, including 152 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 130 were reported male and 22 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
