Sirens: Suspects charged in Green Hill assaults, Glenoma burglary; four arrested for organized retail theft; burglary suspect flees scene

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Green Hill School

• Custodial assaults that occurred on March 31 and April 30 at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street were reported at 8:55 a.m. on May 23.

• A drug violation reported at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street just after 6:20 p.m. on May 23 is under investigation.

• A drug violation reported at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street just before 7 p.m. on May 23 is under investigation.

 

Vehicle accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of North National Avenue and Northeast Median Street just before 10:35 a.m. on May 23.

• A 31-year-old male motorcyclist sustained minor injuries after he struck a deer at the intersection of North National Avenue and Northeast Hampe Way just before 11:55 p.m. on May 23.

• Possible minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Northeast Kresky Avenue and Exhibitor Road at 11:10 a.m. on May 24. One of the drivers was issued a citation for second-degree driving with a suspended license.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A 33-year-old Bucoda woman who was reportedly yelling at her boyfriend in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 4:15 p.m. on May 23 was arrested on an outstanding warrant and was referred on a disorderly conduct charge.

 

Malicious mischief

• Damage to two vehicles in a parking lot in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street was reported just before 6:10 p.m. on May 25.

 

Theft

• A red Schwinn bicycle was reported stolen from the 900 block of South Market Boulevard just after 6:35 a.m. on May 26.

• A 23-year-old Longview man was cited for third-degree theft just after 7:35 p.m. on May 26 after he reportedly grabbed a laptop from a business in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue and ran away down the street.

• A 39-year old Chehalis woman was cited for shoplifting in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 9:05 p.m. on May 26.

 

Assault

• A 23-year-old Morton man was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3:30 p.m. on May 27.

 

Reckless burning

• A 47-year-old woman was cited for reckless burning after a small grass fire was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 7:10 p.m. on May 27.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Burglary

• A burglary in progress was reported in the 1000 block of Centralia Avenue at 9:40 a.m. on May 26. A man was reportedly breaking windows inside an abandoned house. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

• A burglary to a residence in the 1000 block of Roosevelt Avenue involving a suspect known to the victim was reported just before 10:45 a.m. on May 26.

 

Malicious mischief



• A 30-year-old Centralia man was arrested for attempting to break out the window of a business in the 100 block of South Pearl Street at approximately 10 a.m. on May 26.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A 29-year-old Chehalis man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he reportedly jumped in front of traffic at the intersection of West First and J streets just before 10:25 a.m. on May 26.

 

Criminal trespass

• A 35-year-old Centralia man was arrested for second-degree criminal trespass, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and obstructing a law enforcement officer in the 200 block of South Pearl Street at 12:20 p.m. on May 26.

 

Theft

• A wallet was reported stolen from a business in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue just after 5:45 p.m. on May 26.

• Four suspects — a 29-year-old Seattle woman, a 29-year-old Seattle man, a 36-year-old Everett man and a 50-year-old Seattle woman — were arrested for organized retail theft in the 1400 block of Lum Road just before 4:10 p.m. on May 27.

 

Drug violation

• A juvenile was arrested for possession of marijuana at Centralia Middle School in the 900 block of Johnson Road just before 8:55 a.m. on May 27.

 

DUI

• A 22-year-old Centralia man was arrested for DUI and reckless driving after he ran over a neighbor’s cat in the 200 block of West Oakview Avenue just after 10:10 p.m. on May 27.

• A 46-year-old Lakewood man was arrested for DUI at the intersection of South Railroad Avenue and East Main Street just before 4:15 a.m. on May 28.

 

LEWIS COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT

This is a non-comprehensive list of notable developments with Lewis County Superior Court cases The Chronicle has previously reported on. The public can access Superior Court records via the Odyssey portal at the Lewis County Clerk’s Office in Chehalis during business hours.

 

Chargings

• Isaiah Jamon Andrews, 20, was charged April 25 with one count of felony harassment and two counts of custodial assault for allegedly striking a staff member, spitting on another staff member and threatening to kill both staff members while in custody at Green Hill School on Jan. 16. Bail is set at $10,000 and arraignment was scheduled for Thursday, May 29.

• Kenndra Riley Cheney, 25, of Mossyrock, was charged May 27 with one count each of second-degree burglary and second-degree theft for allegedly stealing $880 worth of items from a small honor-system store based out of a shed near Cinebar on May 7. Stolen items included freeze-dried candy, an air freshener, bananas, strawberries, chicken eggs and duck eggs. Bail is set at $5,000 and arraignment was scheduled for Thursday, May 29.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 30 illness-related calls, 18 injury-related calls, eight fire-related calls, four non-emergency service calls, two vehicle accidents, one Lifeline medical alert, one suicide-related call, one medical helicopter request, one overdose, two hazardous conditions reports, one 911-hangup call and two other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 167 inmates, including 154 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 124 were reported male and 30 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 18 inmates, including seven booked by the Centralia Police Department, four booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Law Enforcement, three booked by the Quileute Nation in La Push, one booked by the Skokomish Tribe, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Court and one booked by the Tulalip Tribe.
