Sirens: Suspect eludes Centralia police; railroad stake used in attempted burglary; counterfeit currency reported

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Jessica F. Hill, 33, Centralia, and Anthony W. Pyper, 62, Centralia, were arrested in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 1:26 p.m. Oct. 20 and booked into the Lewis County Jail, Hill for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Pyper for unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. An officer allegedly observed Hill and Pyper passed out in a vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle and allegedly located numerous different types of drugs, packaging items and paraphernalia. Hill and Pyper were arrested from the “circus house” a month ago for similar activities.

• Patrick J. McCarty, 52, Centralia, was arrested for identity theft after allegedly providing officers with someone else’s name during a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street at about 11:28 p.m. Oct. 20. McCarty was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Upon being arrested and searched, McCarty was allegedly found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

Accidents

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 1:40 p.m. Oct. 20. The case is under investigation.

Attempting to elude

• A suspect eluded Centralia officers after reportedly stealing in the 1700 block of Louisiana Avenue in Chehalis at about 3:15 p.m. Oct. 21. Officers stopped efforts to pursue him in the interest of public safety once he started driving recklessly. The vehicle was reportedly found by officers in Yelm, where a short chase was initiated before it, too, was stopped to protect the public. The case is under investigation.

Criminal trespassing

• A local transient was trespassed from private property at the corner of South Tower Avenue and East Chestnut Street at about 10:15 p.m. Oct. 20.

Possession of methamphetamine

• Jason A. Officer, 36, Randle, was arrested and released for alleged possession of a controlled substance, alleged use of drug paraphernalia and alleged possession of cannabis, 40 grams or less, in the 1200 block of North Tower Avenue at about 8:54 p.m. Oct. 21.

Theft

• Items were reported stolen from a local grocery store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at about 12:49 p.m. Oct. 20.

• Officers responded to a report of a stolen tricycle in the 300 block of North Tower Avenue at about 6:08 p.m. Oct. 21. The case is under investigation.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Jeremy S. Fredrickson, 32, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 2:10 p.m. Oct. 18 after the reporting party noticed that his phone was gone while he was driving. The reporting party told officers that he could see from looking up his phone’s location that the phone was at Walmart.

• Seth T. Lloyd, 38, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for one count of alleged disorderly conduct after the reporting party contacted police about a man banging on the front door and screaming while the reporting party was at home alone in the 700 block of Northwest St. Helens Avenue at about 6:51 a.m. Oct. 21.

Accidents

• Damage to a green 1997 Buick LaSabre was reported in the 10 block of South Market Boulevard at about 7:13 p.m. Oct. 16.



• A two-vehicle non-injury collision blocking the roadway occurred at the corner of Southwest 13th Street and Southwest William Avenue at about 7:55 a.m. Oct. 17.

• A vehicle reportedly collided with a fire hydrant and stop sign in the 800 block of Northwest Pennsylvania Avenue at about 3:04 a.m. Oct. 19.

• A tree reportedly fell on top of a car in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 1:55 p.m. Oct. 19.

• A partially-blocking multi-vehicle accident with unknown injuries was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. Oct. 19.

• A two-vehicle non-blocking collision with no injuries was reported at the corner of Northeast Kresky Avenue and Northeast Hampe Way at about 12:44 p.m. Oct. 20.

Assault

• An assault was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard at about 8:45 p.m. Oct. 16. The case is under investigation.

• A disorderly student reportedly destroyed property and punched three adults and one student in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way at about 12:21 p.m. Oct. 17.

Counterfeiting

• An employee requested contact regarding a counterfeit $20 bill in the 1700 block of North National Avenue at about 3:24 p.m. Oct. 18.

Malicious mischief

• A reporting party requested contact for malicious mischief to a business sign and mail theft in the 1300 block of Bishop Road at about 10:46 a.m. Oct. 16. The incident had reportedly occurred over the weekend. 

• An unknown suspect attempted to force open a business’s door using a railroad stake, causing heavy damage to the door — though the suspect reportedly failed to gain entry. A shoe and the stake were left behind. The incident was reported in the 2500 block of North National Avenue at about 8:25 a.m. Oct. 20.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Oct. 22, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 182 inmates, including 168 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 138 were reported male and 30 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
