Sirens: Stolen items found in stolen vehicle; pair arrested for arrested for unlawful transit conduct on train; juvenile arrested for assaulting another juvenile

Malicious mischief

• Damage to a vehicle was reported in the 300 block of South Gold Street at approximately 12:35 p.m. on April 21.

 

Possession of a stolen vehicle

• A 33-year-old Tacoma man was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, first-degree possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1300 block of Lum Road at 11:50 a.m. on April 22 after officers responded to a Flock Safety Camera alert. Items stolen from a recently reported vehicle prowl were located in the vehicle.

 

Theft

• A 39-year-old Chehalis man was arrested for shoplifting makeup items from the 1000 block of South Yew Street just after 11:55 a.m. on April 22.

• A 33-year-old Centralia man was arrested for shoplifting from the 1000 block of South Yew Street just before 7:55 p.m. on April 22. He was also arrested on Centralia and Chehalis municipal court warrants for third-degree theft.

 

Assault

• A juvenile was arrested for the fourth-degree assault of another juvenile in the 1300 block of Reynolds Avenue at 2:45 p.m. on April 22.



• A man reported that he was assaulted and sustained minor injuries during a domestic dispute  in the 100 block of North Gold Street just before 8 p.m. on April 22.

 

Unlawful transit conduct

A 27-year-old Oregon man and a 21-year-old Oregon woman were arrested for unlawful transit conduct in the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue at approximately 9:25 p.m. on April 22 after “their behavior on the train resulted in the train stopping in Centralia for law enforcement assistance,” according to the Centralia Police Department. The man was also arrested on an outstanding Lewis County District Court warrant. The woman was also arrested for assault.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 54 illness-related calls, 15 injury-related calls, five fire-related calls, four non-emergency service calls, two suicide-related calls, four vehicle accidents, one Lifeline medical alert, three overdoses, one 911-hangup call, one report of a dead body and three other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 150 inmates, including 137 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 115 were reported male and 22 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 13 inmates, including four booked by the Centralia Police Department, five booked by the state Department of Corrections, three booked by the La Push Quileute Nation and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
