CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Accidents

• Injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of West Main and North Pearl streets at approximately 9:15 a.m. on July 20. The Centralia Police Department did not disclose the extent of injuries sustained in the crash.

• Injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident that occurred in the 500 block of West Cherry Street just after 11:25 a.m. on July 20. The Centralia Police Department did not disclose the extent of injuries sustained in the crash.

 

Theft

• Merchandise was reported stolen from the 300 block of Reynolds Avenue just after 3:30 p.m. on July 20.

 

Possession of Stolen Property

• A Centralia man was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at 11:15 p.m. on July 21 for alleged second-degree possession of stolen property. Additional charges, including first-degree driving with a suspended license, failure to transfer title and an additional second-degree possession of stolen property charge were referred to the prosecutor’s office.

 

Assault

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 700 block of Euclid Way at 9:15 p.m. on July 20 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault after he allegedly assaulted two people during a dispute.

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 100 block of North Gold Street at approximately 9:25 p.m. on July 21 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault.

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue just before 10:20 p.m. on July 21 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault.

 

Malicious Mischief

• Damage to a car door in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue was reported just before 11:35 a.m. on July 21. An unidentified subject reportedly used a sharp object to scratch the paint on the door. The case is under investigation.

• Graffiti was reported at a basketball court in the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard just after 11:40 a.m. on July 21.

• Graffiti was reported on the Mellen Street overpass just after 2:50 p.m. on July 21. The case is under investigation.

• Graffiti was reported on an overpass in the 500 block of Woodland Avenue just after 2:55 p.m. on July 21. The case is under investigation.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Animal Negligence/Abuse

• Just after 9:25 a.m. on July 20, a caller in the 600 block of Southwest William Avenue reported a neighbor recently moved and left their four dogs behind. The dogs were reportedly “living in really bad conditions (with) no food, no water.”

• A German shepherd was reportedly locked in a vehicle in the 500 block of West Main Street just after 7:40 p.m. on July 20. 



 

Theft

• A case of second-degree theft reported just before 12:25 p.m. on July 20 in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue is under investigation.

• A man reportedly attempted to steal a cellphone in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3 p.m. on July 20. No arrests were made.

• At 6:45 p.m. on July 21, a bicycle theft that occurred in the 300 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue the night prior was reported.

• A second-degree theft reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at 8:30 p.m. on July 21 is under investigation.

 

Hit-and-Run

• Just before 2:45 p.m. on July 20, a hit-and-run that occurred the day prior in the 300 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue was reported.

 

Disputes

• A “family disturbance/dispute” reported in the 100 block of Southeast Westside Drive just after 3:25 p.m. on July 20 is under investigation.

• At approximately 10:15 p.m. on July 21, a woman in the 100 block of Southeast Westside Drive reported a man was “there threatening to snap her neck.” No arrests were made.

Facebook Hacking

• At approximately 6 p.m. on July 20, a caller in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street reported someone had hacked into a woman’s Facebook account and made threats.

• At approximately 6:30 a.m. on July 22, a caller in the 800 block of Northwest Ohio Avenue reported someone hacked into her Facebook account, which had a bank card linked to it.

 

Rocking Chair Vandalism

• Vandalism to a vintage Bentwood rocking chair was reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue at 10:35 p.m. on July 21.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 139 inmates, including 122 in the general population and 17 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 101 were reported male and 21 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 15 were reported male and two were reported female.
