Death investigation

• A death reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just before 8:05 a.m. on Feb. 21 is under investigation.

 

Juvenile problem

• A juvenile was reportedly acting “very aggressive” towards her parents in the 700 block of Southwest William Avenue just after 9:45 p.m. on Feb. 21.

 

Criminal trespass

• A homeless man who was sleeping in front of a business’ door in the 700 block of South Market Boulevard just after 7 a.m. on Feb. 22 was moved along.

• At 12:05 p.m. on Feb. 22, a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue reported an “unauthorized guest” used on-site laundry facilities two days prior.

• A subject was cited for trespassing in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 4:10 p.m. on Feb. 22.

 

Hit-and-run

• Just after 10:10 a.m. on Feb. 22, a hit-and-run that occurred in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue the day prior was reported.

 

Vehicle accident

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 4 p.m. on Feb. 22.

 

Malicious mischief

• A third-degree malicious mischief reported in the 300 block of Southwest Riverside Drive just after noon on Feb. 22 is under investigation.

 

Assault

• One subject was arrested in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 2:40 p.m. on Feb. 22 for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence after a mother called to report a dispute between her and her 14-year-old son.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• At approximately 5:50 p.m. on Feb. 22, a resident in the 200 block of Southwest Lewis Street reported a suspicious male “has knocked on (her) door and neighbors’ doors several times” over the last day.

• At 5:55 p.m. on Feb. 22, a caller reported a “homeless male just threw something in the field” near a business in the 1900 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. The caller noted “it was smoking” and said “he may be trying to start a fire.”

• At 7:55 p.m. on Feb. 22, a resident in the 1200 block of Southwest Ripple Court reported someone who “claimed to be some ministry” knocked on his door.

• Just before 9:10 p.m. on Feb. 22, a caller in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported “someone took the straps off of his cargo vehicle hauler.” The caller reportedly stated “It’s technically a terrorist attack.”

• Just after 10:05 p.m. on Feb. 22, a female caller reported a male subject approached her in the 400 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue and kept telling her to “come here.” The caller said she “had to yell at him to back off,” at which point “he took off running.”

 

Drug violation

• A subject was cited for possession of meth in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 6:40 p.m. on Feb. 22.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Criminal trespass



• A 49-year-old homeless woman from Lacey who was reportedly “yelling and screaming” at post office workers in the 200 block of Centralia College Boulevard at approximately 10:25 a.m. on Feb. 21 was trespassed from the post office.

• A 40-year-old woman was trespassed from a phone store in the 1200 block of Lum Road at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Feb. 21 for “being disorderly and yelling at employees.”

• A 49-year-old Lacey woman was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree criminal trespass in the 100 block of North Gold Street at 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 21.

• Two homeless Winlock men found camping in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue just before 8:05 a.m. on Feb. 22 were arrested on outstanding municipal court warrants.

• A homeless man from Centralia who was blocking traffic at a drive thru espresso stand in the 900 block of West Main Street just before 10:25 a.m. on Feb. 22 was asked to move along.

• A 41-year-old Chehalis man was cited for trespassing in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 2:50 a.m. on Feb. 23.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A 34-year-old homeless man from Pe Ell was warned for digging through garbage cans at a business in the 300 block of North Tower Avenue just before 12:25 p.m. on Feb. 21.

• A 26-year-old Lacey man who was “walking into traffic, causing cars to slow down and go around him” at the intersection of North Tower Avenue and West Center Street at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Feb. 21 was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for disorderly conduct.

 

Theft

• A 26-year-old Centralia man and a 33-year-old Pacific woman were arrested for shoplifting in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 12:55 p.m. on Feb. 21. The man was also cited for shoplifting alcohol from a business in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue.

• Two subjects were seen on video siphoning gas from the 1000 block of South Gold Street just after 3:10 a.m. on Feb. 22. The case is under investigation.

• An unidentified male was seen on video stealing several bottles of liquor from a store in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue just after 4 p.m. on Feb. 22.

• A 31-year-old Roseburg man was arrested and was booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for third-degree theft after he allegedly stole shoes from a business in the 1300 block of Lum Road.

• An RC car was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 100 block of West Summa Street just before 6:40 a.m. on Feb. 23.

 

Malicious mischief

• Eggs were reportedly thrown at several vehicles in the 500 block of South King Street just before 10 p.m. on Feb. 21.

• A 33-year-old homeless man from Chehalis was arrested in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue for second-degree malicious mischief after he allegedly threw a rock through the front window of a restaurant.

 

DUI

• A 33-year-old Chehalis man was arrested at the intersection of Harrison and Sandra avenues just before 11:10 p.m. on Feb. 21 and was booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for DUI.

 

Vehicle accidents

• One driver was transported to a local hospital for neck pain after a vehicle pulled out in front of a city bus in the 1300 block of Lum Road at approximately 10:20 a.m. on Feb. 22 and was struck.

• One driver complained of minor injuries after they were involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of West First and E streets just after 3:40 p.m. on Feb. 22.

 

Hit-and-run

• A non-injury hit-and-run was reported in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue just after 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 22. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 167 inmates, including 154 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 129 were reported male and 25 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
