Sirens: Residence Ransacked; Burglar Exposes Himself; 'Shivering' Dogs in Cages

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• An iPad and a wrench were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 9:35 a.m. on Oct. 5.

 

Vehicle Accident

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1700 block of North Pearl Street just before 1:40 p.m. on Oct. 5. The at-fault driver was issued an infraction.

 

Malicious Mischief

Just before 9:25 a.m. on Oct. 6, damage to a vehicle’s tires that occurred sometime overnight in the 1800 block of North Pearl Street was reported.

 

Burglary

Just after 8 p.m. on Oct. 6, a caller in the 800 block of Elm Street reported “their door was kicked in and their residence ransacked.” The Centralia Police Department had no suspects identified as of Friday afternoon.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Dispute

• A possible physical dispute was reported in the 1700 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 5.

 

Burglary

• A man who allegedly entered a building in the 400 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue “with his pants down and had everything showing” just after 9:55 a.m. on Oct. 5 was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree burglary and indecent exposure.

 

Disorderly Conduct

• A man was reportedly “screaming and yelling at everyone” and “acting like he’s going to fight people” was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 10:05 a.m. on Oct. 5.

• A man was reportedly “throwing his bicycle around into the street” at the intersection of Northwest State Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 1:05 p.m. on Oct. 5.

 

Harassment

• A subject reportedly threatened a customer at a business in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just before 6:35 p.m. on Oct. 6.



• A man reportedly tripped a woman in a hallway and threatened to “kick her ass” in the 1200 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue just after 8:25 p.m. on Oct. 6.

 

Trespassing

• Three men who were reportedly inside a dumpster in the 2500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 10:55 a.m. on Oct. 5 were trespassed from the area.

• A case of trespassing reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 5 is under investigation.

• A guest at a hotel in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue reportedly went into another guest’s room just after 8:05 p.m. on Oct. 6.

 

Dogs in Cages

• At approximately 5:45 p.m. on Oct. 5, a child reported seeing two cages atop a “dirty white vehicle” in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard with “shivering” dogs inside. The caller advised a third cage was in the back of the vehicle.

 

Theft

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:55 p.m. on Oct. 5 is under investigation.

• Items were reported stolen from a cabinet in the 1300 block of Southwest McFadden Avenue just before 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 6. The suspect reportedly left a “no trespassing” sign behind.

• A second-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 12:35 p.m. on Oct. 6 is under investigation.

• A credit card and identification cards were reported stolen from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 2 p.m. on Oct. 6.

• A car was reported as possibly stolen from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 2:05 p.m. on Oct. 6.

• At 4:35 p.m. on Oct. 6, gas was reported stolen from three separate vehicles in the 1500 block of Northwest State Avenue at around midnight the night before.

• A tool kit was reported stolen from a business in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 6:35 p.m. on Oct. 6.

 

Vehicle Accident

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 1500 block of South Market Boulevard just after 6:55 p.m. on Oct. 5.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 166 inmates, including 151 in the general population and 15 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 129 were reported male and 22 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 13 were reported male and two were reported female.
