Arrests
• Casey M. Specht, 46, Centralia, was arrested near the 1100 block of South Gold Street at about 9:09 p.m. Jan. 26 and booked into the Lewis County Jail for an alleged felony DUI. Specht was also referred for alleged fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence, third-degree malicious mischief constituting domestic violence and obstructing a law enforcement officer. According to police, officers had been looking for Specht after he had allegedly assaulted a roommate, broke a window and left in a vehicle. Officers utilized the Flock Safety camera system to locate Specht and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, Specht allegedly refused to comply with verbal commands from officers. Police deployed K9 Havik and took Specht into custody.
• Nicholas R. Kos, 38, Centralia, was arrested in the 300 block of West Reynolds Avenue at about 12:19 a.m. Jan. 27 and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence.
• Konner J. M. Prue-Garcilazo, 19, Centralia, was arrested in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue at about 10:35 a.m. Jan. 27 and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged third-degree theft and possessing cannabis as a minor. According to police, the charges stem from Prue-Garcilazo stealing over $100 in Co2 canisters from a gas station before fleeing and hiding them under a viaduct. Co2 canisters, air duster, also known as “Dust Off,” are becoming an item frequently used by individuals to inhale for a temporary, yet extremely dangerous, high, police stated. The items are now commonly found in gas stations and convenience stores, according to Centralia police.
• Fabricio Lopez-Baldovinos, 22, Bucoda, was arrested in the 2000 block of Cooks Hill Road at about 12:59 p.m. Jan. 27 for alleged reckless endangerment after he reportedly crashed into a guard rail and a stump while riding an e-bike. Centralia police were initially dispatched to multiple reports of an extremely intoxicated male riding an e-bike. According to police, the witnesses told dispatch that the male rider had crashed into a guard rail as well as a stump off of the roadway. Upon being contacted by detectives and officers, Fabricio Lopez-Baldovinos was arrested for reckless endangerment. Lopez-Baldovinos was further received a probation violation by the Washington State Department of Corrections. Lopez-Baldovinos was transported to the Lewis County Jail where he was booked into custody. Electric bikes, in most cases, are not considered to be a motor vehicle, which prevents one from being charged with a DUI, according to police.
Accidents
• A two-vehicle collision was reported at the corner of South Gold Street and East Locust Street at about 1:27 p.m. Jan. 26.
Possession of fentanyl
• Eric M. Maden, 42, Elma, was arrested in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue at about 2:08 p.m. Jan. 27 and released after he was allegedly found possessing fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Theft
• Building materials were reported stolen in the 600 block of Salzer Creek Drive at about 9:40 a.m. Jan. 26.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Eliot Widmer, 24, Moses Lake, was arrested in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street at about 3:08 p.m. Jan. 26 and booked into the Lewis County Jail for an alleged protection order violation and alleged outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrants.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Jan. 28, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 185 inmates, including 172 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 132 were reported male and 40 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Jan. 28, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 12 inmates. Of those, four were from Centralia and three were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were two from the Skokomish Tribe and one each from the Quileute Nation, the Suquamish Tribe and the Tulalip Tribe.
