CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Theft
• Prescription medication was reported stolen from the 300 block of West Pine Street at 11:30 a.m. on May 30.
• A 33-year-old Centralia woman was arrested for shoplifting and possession of suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 3:40 p.m. on May 30.
• A package was reported stolen from the 1400 block of Lewis Street just after 6:30 p.m. on May 31.
• A power washer and other items were reported stolen from the 1100 block of Roosevelt Avenue just after 11:10 a.m. on June 1.
• A 37-year-old Centralia man was arrested in the 300 block of Reynolds Avenue at 1:25 p.m. on June 1 for third-degree theft and possession of a controlled substance that occurred in April.
Criminal trespass
• A 48-year-old Rochester man was arrested for second-degree criminal trespass and resisting arrest in the 100 block of South Pearl Street at 12:20 p.m. on May 30.
• Two homeless people were warned for unlawfully crossing railroad tracks in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street at 3:15 p.m. on May 31.
Vicious dog
• A man was attacked by a dog, causing minor injuries, in the 900 block of East Locust Street just after 2:05 p.m. on May 30. The dog was taken from the owner, who has received multiple warnings and tickets related to her dog in the past, according to the Centralia Police Department.
Assault
• A juvenile female was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence; third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence; and possession of marijuana after she allegedly assaulted a family member and damaged a door in the 1100 block of West First Street just before 8 a.m. on May 31.
• A 46-year-old Centralia woman was arrested for assaulting family members in the 300 block of Noel Avenue just after 11:30 p.m. on May 31. A 40-year-old Centralia man was also arrested for obstruction of law enforcement and interference with the reporting of domestic violence.
Traffic hazard
• Just before 4:03 p.m. on May 31, multiple power lines went down at the intersection of Woodland Avenue and Madison Street due to an unknown cause and power was lost across the south end of the city, according to the Centralia Police Department Centralia City Light responded to repair the downed lines while Centralia City Streets and Riverside Fire Authority responded to assist with traffic control.
DUI
• A 23-year-old Rochester man was arrested for DUI in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m. on June 1.
Hit-and-run
• A hit-and-run was reported in the 500 block of South Gold Street just before 3:20 p.m. on June 1.
Malicious mischief
• Vandalism to two vehicles was reported in the 300 block of South Diamond Street just after 8:35 a.m. on June 1.
• Vandalism to a vehicle window was reported in the 1800 block of Van Wormer Street just after 11:50 a.m. on June 1.
Camping
• A homeless person was warned for camping in Washington Park, in violation of city law, at 11:05 a.m. on June 1.
Harassment
• An intoxicated juvenile reportedly made threatening statements to a group of people before trying to steal from a business in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue just after 9:45 p.m. on June 1. The juvenile was hospitalized for high blood alcohol levels and charges are being referred to the Lewis County Juvenile Prosecutor.
FIRE AND EMS CALLS
• Between Wednesday morning and Friday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 58 illness-related calls, 20 injury-related calls, nine fire-related calls, five non-emergency service calls, six vehicle accidents, one suicide-related call, one overdose, three 911-hangup calls, one Lifeline medical alert and seven other calls.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Monday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 23 inmates, including 10 booked by the Centralia Police Department, five booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the City of Elma, three booked by the La Push Quileute Nation, one booked by the Tulalip Tribe, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Court, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Law Enforcement and one booked by the Skokomish Tribe.
