CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Found property

• A set of keys was turned in to the Centralia Police Department in the 100 block of West Maple Street as found property just after 8:40 a.m. on Jan. 31.

 

Drug violations

• An officer was asked to pick up suspected marijuana from Centralia Middle School in the 900 block of Johnson Road just after 8:55 a.m. on Jan. 31.

• A 32-year-old Anacortes man was cited for possession of meth in the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue at 2:50 p.m. on Feb. 1 after an officer saw him attempt to smoke meth outside of the train station.

 

Overdose

• Officers responded to a potential drug overdose in the 1000 block of Grand Avenue at 11:40 a.m. on Jan. 31. The subject was transported to the hospital after Narcan was administered.

 

Vehicle accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1000 block of F Street just before 10:15 a.m. on Jan. 31.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of South Pearl and West Cherry streets at approximately 12:50 p.m. on Jan. 31.

• A non-injury, single-vehicle collision was reported in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Jan. 31.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1300 block of South Gold Street at 4:05 p.m. on Feb. 1.

 

Assault

• A 40-year-old homeless man from California was arrested in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road just before 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 31 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for assaulting a security officer who was trying to remove him from a building. He was also booked for interfering with a health care facility by “causing a disruption.”

 

Criminal trespass

• A homeless man from Centralia who was reportedly “harassing customers” at a business in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 31 was trespassed from the business.

 

Fleeing from police

• A 25-year-old Winlock man was arrested in the 500 block of South Oak Street just after 10:50 a.m. on Feb. 1 and was booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail after he fled from police. He was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.

 

Theft

• A juvenile female reportedly stole three bottles of liquor from a store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 11:05 p.m. on Jan. 31 and fled on foot. Officers located the girl with a juvenile male. Both gave false names, but “were positively identified a short time later” as “missing/runaways” from Shelton, according to the Centralia Police Department. The girl was cited for third-degree theft and was released to her parent/guardian. The boy was arrested on an outstanding warrant and was booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center.

 

Malicious mischief

• Officers responded to a vandalism report in the 100 block of Lilac Lane at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Feb. 1. A male subject had reportedly “deflated the air out of his girlfriend’s vehicle tires without causing any damage to the tires,” according to the Centralia Police Department. The girlfriend, however, “believed her boyfriend slashed her ties, so she slashed his tires.” The boyfriend did not wish to pursue charges.

 

Disputes

• A verbal domestic dispute was reported in the 3200 block of Galvin Road at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Feb. 1. Both parties were provided with local domestic violence resources.

• A physical dispute was reported at a motel in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road just after 11:10 p.m. on Feb. 1. The victim, who “was highly intoxicated,” refused to cooperate with the investigation. The victim was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital via ambulance at his request. Officers were later dispatched to the hospital after the victim “refused to leave after he was medically cleared. An officer provided the victim courtesy transport to the cold weather shelter.

 

Physical control 

• While on routine patrol just after 10:25 p.m. on Feb. 1, an officer observed a vehicle with no license plates parked in a fast food parking lot in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue.  When the officer checked the vehicle, he discovered that it was occupied by a male and female, both of whom were passed out. Drug paraphernalia and suspected fentanyl were observed near the male in the driver’s seat.  The male, 40, of Tacoma, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for physical control of a motor vehicle and knowing possession of fentanyl.

 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle accident

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1500 block of South Market Boulevard just after 5:05 p.m. on Feb. 1.



 

Indecent exposure

• An indecent exposure reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at approximately 8:20 a.m. on Jan. 31 is under investigation.

 

Prison riot

• A riot reported at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street just before 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 31 is under investigation.

 

Criminal trespass

• Two homeless people were reportedly setting up camp in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 31.

• Three subjects were reportedly trespassing on railroad tracks in the 100 block of Southwest William Avenue just before 3:40 p.m. on Jan. 31. The dispatch operator who handled the report noted the reporting party “was very rude.”

• A male subject who was reportedly “throwing up gang signs and following an employee around” at a business in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just before 5:50 p.m. on Jan. 31 was trespassed from the business.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A male subject was reportedly removing manhole covers with a crowbar at the intersection of North Market Boulevard and Northwest West Street just before 1:25 p.m. on Jan. 31.

• A disorderly verbal dispute over a parking spot was reported in the 400 block of Northeast Adams Avenue at 7:10 p.m. on Jan. 31.

• A woman was reportedly acting disorderly in the 1900 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue at 9:55 a.m. on Feb. 1.

• A male subject was reportedly “flipping off ‘everybody’ and throwing his stuff around” in the 10 block of Northeast Cascade Avenue at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Feb. 1.

 

Burglary

• A second-degree burglary reported in the 10 block of Southeast 16th Street at 2 p.m. on Jan. 31 is under investigation.

• A male subject was arrested in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street at 12:55 p.m. on Feb. 1 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree burglary after he allegedly stole a duffel bag off of a porch.

 

Theft

• An EBT card was reported stolen from the 800 block of Southeast Adams Avenue at approximately 5 p.m. on Jan. 31.

• A subject was cited for third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 3:20 p.m. on Feb. 1.

 

Assault

• A subject was arrested in the 500 block of Southeast Hilltop Drive just before 7:50 p.m. on Jan. 31 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault.

 

Juvenile problem

• A “juvenile problem” reported in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street just after 8:35 a.m. on Feb. 1 is under investigation.

 

Suspicious person

• A suspicious male subject was reportedly recording a dance class through a window with a camera on a tripod in the 300 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue just after 3:50 p.m. on Feb. 1. Employees reportedly “asked him not to,” and the reporting party said “he is mocking them and not leaving.” A dance instructor reportedly had a verbal confrontation with the subject before disengaging.

 

DUI

• A woman was arrested in the 10 block of Northeast Cascade Avenue at 2:55 a.m. on Feb. 2 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for DUI.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 126 inmates, including 113 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 92 were reported male and 21 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
