Sirens: Man with loaded pistol arrested for DUI; juvenile allegedly propositions child; citation issued for camping on city property

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Mimi Adams, 53, of Centralia, was arrested and released for camping on city property at the corner of West Main Street and North Pearl Street at about 5:57 a.m. July 11.

• Corina Gamez Orellana, 31, of Centralia, was arrested and released for a hit-and-run at about 9:15 a.m. July 11 after colliding with another motor vehicle and fleeing the accident in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue.

• Santos T. Lafferty, 22, of Centralia was arrested and booked at around 3:22 a.m. July 12 for DUI, operating a motor vehicle without interlock and having a loaded pistol in the car without a permit at the corner of Allen Avenue and Borst Avenue.

• Javier Valencia, 48, and Amanda Reading, 33, of Shelton, were both arrested and released at around 8:44 p.m. July 11 for third-degree theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and third-degree driving while license suspended or revoked after shoplifting from a local business in the 100 block of West High Street.

• Natanael Arevalo, 23, of Hoquiam, and Esteban Arevalo Garcia, 28, of Hoquiam, were both arrested and released at close to 11:28 p.m. July 11 for fighting in public after engaging in a mutual fight in the 600 block of H Street.

• Kelly Jensen, 57, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at about 12:39 a.m., July 13 for DUI after being found to be intoxicated while operating a motor vehicle in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue.

• Joel E. Mendez-Ponce, 68, of Centralia, was arrested at about 8:52 p.m. July 13 after being involved in a physical dispute with a family member in the 900 block of West Third Street.

 

Theft

• A resident reported the theft of prescription narcotics in the 1700 block of Providence Lane at about 4:05 p.m. July 11. The case is under investigation.



• A caller reported the theft of a passport from their purse in the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard at about 7:10 p.m. July 11. No suspect information is available at this time, according to the Centralia Police Department.

 

Sexual Misconduct

• A juvenile was referred to the Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office at around 9:06 p.m. July 11 related to the proposition of sex acts from another juvenile for money in the 2800 block of Russell Road.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 204 inmates, including 189 in the general population and 15 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 160 were reported male and 29 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and three were reported female.
