CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Prowl

• A vehicle prowl reported in the 2500 block of North National Avenue at approximately 9:05 a.m. on Aug. 17 is under investigation.

 

Disorderly Conduct

• A subject in the 700 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue reportedly “tried to swerve at someone (directing) traffic” and “refused to follow the signs.” No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.

• A woman was reportedly “running through the garden center” at a business in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 11:05 a.m. on Aug. 17 “screaming for help, something about sex trafficking.” No arrests were made.

 

Harassment

• A man reportedly threatened a woman in the 1800 block of South Market Boulevard just after 3:20 p.m. on Aug. 17 and “told her he (would) be back on Sunday.” No arrests were made.

A case of ongoing harassment was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Seventh Street just after 9:20 p.m. on Aug. 17.

 

Burglary

• A second-degree burglary reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 4:25 p.m. on Aug. 17 is under investigation.

 

Theft

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 17 is under investigation.

• Just after 6:55 a.m. on Aug. 18, a caller reported a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle was stolen from a property in the 200 block of Northeast Terrace Road sometime overnight.

 

DUI

• Just after 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 17, a caller in the 100 block of Northeast Median Street reported seeing a driver drinking alcohol in the drive-thru lane. There was reportedly another adult and a child in the vehicle. Officers followed up at the driver’s home and said both adults “appeared completely sober.” No arrests were made.

 

Suspicious Person

• A man “with a hunting bow and arrow” was reportedly “walking in and out of traffic” and “yelling into the air at no one” in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 10:55 a.m. on Aug. 18.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Identity Theft

• A victim in the 200 block of East Carson Street reported a bank card had been opened in their name just after 9:20 a.m. on Aug. 17.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• Just before 9:15 a.m. on Aug. 17, a victim reported their vehicle in the 300 block of South King Street was damaged where an unidentified suspect tried to break in.

• Personal property was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue just before 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 17.

• Personal property was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of West High Street just after 5:40 p.m. on Aug. 17.

 

Shoplifting

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just after 11:35 a.m. on Aug. 18 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for shoplifting.



• A Centralia woman was cited for shoplifting in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just before 10 p.m. on Aug. 18.

 

Stolen Laptop

• A laptop computer was reported stolen from the 1300 block of Lum Road at 6:45 p.m. on Aug. 18.

 

Graffiti

• Graffiti to a building was reported in the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard just before 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 17.

Vehicle Accidents

• A minor, non-injury accident was reported in the 1500 block of Grand Avenue just after 2:10 p.m. on Aug. 17.

• Injuries were reported following a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident at the intersection of East First Street and North Tower Avenue at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 17.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident on private property in the 200 block of West Oakview Avenue was reported just after 6:50 p.m. on Aug. 17.

• A minor, non-injury accident was reported at the intersection of South Pearl and West Walnut streets just after 9:25 p.m. on Aug. 18.

• A minor, non-injury accident was reported in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue just after 9:40 p.m. on Aug. 18.

• A vehicle reportedly struck a fence in the 900 block of Atherton Street at approximately 4:35 a.m. on Aug. 19. The driver reportedly had a medical issue.

 

Stolen Vehicles

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 1300 block of Lum Road at approximately 4:05 p.m. on Aug. 18 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle.

• A vehicle reported stolen out of Lacey was located in the 1100 block of South Tower Avenue just after 5:40 p.m. on Aug. 17.

 

Trespassing

• A man was trespassed from a business in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue just before 11:10 p.m. on Aug. 17 “after being argumentative.”

• A man was trespassed from a business in the 400 block of West Main Street just before 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 17 for alleged shoplifting.

 

DUI

• Jorge R. Antonio Tomas, 23, of Centralia, was arrested in the 200 block of Downing Road at 9:55 p.m. on Aug. 18 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence.

 

Unlawful Weapon Display

• At approximately 4:20 a.m. on Aug. 19, Centralia patrols were advised of a man who had pointed a handgun at an individual in the 1200 block of Brotherson Road. The victim did not know who the suspect was and the suspect had already left the scene when officers arrived. This case is still under investigation.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 171 inmates, including 153 in the general population and 18 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 121 were reported male and 32 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 16 were reported male and two were reported female.
