CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Jordan L. Larson, 33, Chehalis, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for identity theft after allegedly providing officers with the name and date of birth of another individual in an attempt to avoid being arrested for his warrants in the 1100 block of Southeast Washington Avenue at about 9:58 a.m. Sept. 19.
• Zachary S. Cline, 32, Chehalis, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1100 block of Southeast Washington Avenue at about 10:15 a.m. Sept. 19.
• Teresa L. Leys, 56, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for first-degree criminal trespassing after she was allegedly found to have entered a business from which she was previously trespassed in the 100 block of South Silver Street at about 12:21 p.m. Sept. 19.
• Julie A. Erickson, 59, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault after allegedly assaulting her neighbor’s friend in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at about 1:07 p.m. Sept. 19.
• Bruce C. Farr, 72, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for harassment after allegedly threatening to injure two women in the 2500 block of Kristine Court at about 10:10 a.m. Sept. 20.
Accident
• Officers responded to a non-injury, single-vehicle hit-and-run collision in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at about 9:05 p.m. Sept. 20. The collision allegedly occurred the previous day. The offending driver was educated on the proper procedure for reporting collisions with damage. The case was forwarded to Centralia municipal prosecutors for a review of charges.
Assault
• A report was made about an alleged assault against a child in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at about 3:48 p.m. Sept. 19. The case is under investigation and was forwarded to Child Protective Services for their review.
Attempted burglary
• A subject allegedly entered a barbed-wire fenced area in an apparent attempt to steal items in the 100 block of Floral Street at about 9:31 a.m. Sept. 21. The subject was reportedly caught on camera and left without taking anything.
Counterfeiting
• An officer responded to a report of a female attempting to purchase gift cards with counterfeit money in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 5:03 p.m. Sept. 20. The case is under investigation.
Criminal trespass
• Officers responded to a report that a female had allegedly opened a stranger’s door and was screaming for her baby before being run off and chased by other nearby residents in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road at about 10:54 p.m. Sept. 20. All parties were contacted, and since the original resident did not wish to press charges, they were all allowed to leave. After the female subject had left the scene, the original resident changed her mind and wanted to press charges. The case has been forwarded to Centralia municipal prosecutors for review.
Robbery
• Officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 500 block of North Rock Street at about 11:29 p.m. Sept. 21 after a male was allegedly assaulted and had his wallet stolen by two males wearing black. The case is under investigation.
Scam
• A report was made of a possible telephone scam being perpetrated against an elderly person in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at about 3:13 p.m. Sept. 19. The case is under investigation.
• A scam was reported involving a suspect accessing a victim’s bank account and changing their login information in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at about 8:13 a.m. Sept. 20.
• A fraud or scam involving a possible credit card data breach is under investigation. Dozens of potential victims have been identified, all of whom used a payment card at a local business. The point-of-sale device or the company that processes the payments for the business is believed to be the nexus of the fraudulent charges. The report was made in the 1600 block of South Gold Street at about 12:34 p.m. Sept. 20. The case is under investigation.
• An officer responded to an alleged phone scam in the 1200 block of North Tower Avenue at about 5:06 p.m. Sept. 20. A male claiming to represent a lottery sweepstakes allegedly called the victim in an attempt to deceive them into sending money to the scammer.
Theft
• A theft of tools was reported in the 200 block of North Tower Avenue at about 10:21 a.m. Sept. 19. The case is under investigation.
• An officer responded to a report of a male driving a dark-colored Chevrolet Trailblazer stealing lumber from a job site in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road at about 7:58 p.m. Sept 20. The case is under investigation.
Vehicle Prowl
• A vehicle prowl occurring sometime in the morning was reported in the 600 block of F Street at about 1:23 p.m. Sept. 19. The case is under investigation.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
• The Chehalis Police Department has not yet released its most recent call reports. Look for updated information in an upcoming edition of The Chronicle and at chronline.com when the reports are made available.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Sept. 22, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 185 inmates, including 172 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 146 were reported male and 26 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
