Sirens: Man huffing 'Dust Off' cited; K9 Havik deployed in Centralia; eggs, cheese thrown on car; arrest made for communication with a minor for immoral purposes;

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Nick A. Moe, 47, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, and obstructing a law enforcement officer at around 5:24 a.m. Aug. 10. Teresa T. I. Moe, 19, of Centralia, was also present during the investigation, and she was arrested for her existing domestic violence arrest warrants in the 2800 block of Russell Road.

• Aaron J. Henning, 35, of Centralia, was arrested and issued a criminal citation for second-degree criminal trespassing and inhaling toxic fumes at about 3:11 p.m. Aug. 10. Henning was located on a property from which he was previously trespassed in the 200 block of East Cherry Street while he was inhaling “Dust Off.”

• Centralia police officers assisted the Yelm Police Department with arresting Alega Faamuli, 23, of Centralia, for communication with a minor for immoral purposes at about 6:15 p.m. Aug. 10 in the 100 block of East Maple Street. Alega was transferred to the custody of Yelm Police Department.

• Jesus G. Morales-Hernandez, 29, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for third-degree driving with license suspended and possession of methamphetamine at around 8:01 p.m. Aug. 9. The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop at the corner of Harrison Avenue and Foron Road, in which K9 Havik was deployed and alerted to the vehicle. 

 

Car cheesing

• Eggs and cottage cheese were reportedly thrown onto a car at about 11:30 a.m. Aug. 8 in the 1200 block of J Street, causing damage. This case is still under investigation.

 

Theft

• While tending to other medical related business at George Washington Park in the 100 block of South Silver Street, a suspect approached a Riverside Fire Authority apparatus and stole a “Jaws of Life” machine valued at $12,000.  The suspect and their vehicle were captured on surveillance cameras at about 2:09 p.m. Aug. 9. This case is actively being investigated by multiple agencies, the Centralia Police Department stated.

• Three suspects were captured on video at about 12:38 p.m. Aug. 9 stealing five wallets totaling $1,030.88 while using devices designed to defeat security measures at the Centralia Outlets in the 1300 block of Lum Road. This investigation is ongoing.

 

Vehicle collision

• A two-vehicle collision occurred at the corner of Kresky Alley and East Summa Street at about 4:18 p.m. Aug. 8.

• Two vehicles collided at the intersection of East Maple Street and North Railroad Avenue at around 5:58 p.m. Aug. 8.

• A single vehicle collision was reported in the 600 block of North Gold Street at about 7:57 p.m. Aug. 8.



 

Assault

• A juvenile was referred for criminal charges after she spit on staff at a medical facility in the 1300 block of Reynolds Avenue and kicked one individual in the groin at around 8:47 a.m. Aug. 10.

• A dispute was reported in a parking lot in the 100 block of West High Street. Two subjects sustained injuries, while the other involved parties fled the scene in a vehicle at about 3:06 p.m. Aug. 10. The severity of the injuries and the identities of the subjects who left the scene are unknown at this time.

 

Department assistance

• Centralia police officers assisted Riverside Fire Authority with a residential structure fire at around 1:50 a.m. Aug. 11 in the 2800 block of Borst Avenue.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 166 inmates, including 153 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 131 were reported male and 22 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
