CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Vehicle accidents
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way at 9:35 a.m. on March 19.
• A vehicular assault reported at the intersection of Northwest State Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 8:25 p.m. on March 19 is under investigation.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 2500 block of North National Avenue at 12:45 p.m. on March 20.
• A vehicle reportedly struck two pedestrians in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 4:50 p.m. on March 20. No injuries were reported.
Hit-and-run
• A subject was cited for a hit-and-run in the 400 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just after 12:25 p.m. on March 19.
Criminal trespass
• Four to five subjects were reportedly setting up camp near railroad tracks in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street at 11:15 a.m. on March 19.
• A criminal trespass reported in the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue just after 4 p.m. on March 19 is under investigation.
• A disorderly man who was verbally threatening staff and refusing to leave a business in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just before 6:15 a.m. on March 21 was trespassed from the business.
Suspicious circumstances
• A man with a “big Texas toothpick” boot knife was reported on a bus in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 3:30 p.m. on March 19.
• Just before 5:45 p.m. on March 19, a citizen in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street reported an ongoing issue regarding people throwing trash on his vehicle and someone “screaming derogatory things” at him “because of a parking spot.”
• A citizen in the 800 block of West Main Street reported a homeless man “with a big round hat in his left hand” looking into her vehicle and opening the passenger door to her vehicle while she was inside it just after 8:20 p.m. on March 19. She advised she put her vehicle into reverse and drove away before he could get in.
• A citizen reported hearing someone say “help me” in the 200 block of Northwest Cascade Avenue just after 10:55 p.m. on March 19 but was unable to find the person. Officers confirmed a homeless man was “yelling for a ride because it’s raining.”
Overdose
• A 5-year-old boy reportedly overdosed on an antidepressant in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 8:35 p.m. on March 19.
Harassment
• Ongoing harassment was reported in the 300 block of West Main Street just after 2:25 p.m. on March 20.
• Harassment was reported in the 100 block of Southwest McFadden Avenue just after 4:30 p.m. on March 20.
Fraud
• Solicitors were reportedly trying to sell gold in the parking lot of a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:55 p.m. on March 20.
Theft
• A total of $300 in merchandise was reported stolen from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 3:05 p.m. on March 20.
CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Theft
• A 34-year-old Shelton man was arrested for third-degree theft and possession of a controlled substance in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue just after 10:05 p.m. on March 19.
• A total of $360 worth of product was reported stolen from a business in the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 11:10 a.m. on March 20.
• A 65-year-old Centralia man was arrested for shoplifting in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 2:05 p.m. on March 20.
•A 34-year-old Auburn woman was cited for shoplifting in the 1100 block of Harrison avenue just before 3:35 p.m. on March 20. She was also arrested on an outstanding Grays Harbor County Superior Court warrant for second-degree possession of stolen property.
• Officers responded to the 900 block of Centralia College Boulevard after a male was seen on video “suspiciously pushing a moped into a parking lot from the street,” according to the Centralia Police Department. After an investigation, a 32-year-old Winlock man was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle.
Malicious mischief
• Multiple windows to a vehicle in the 200 block of North Iron Street were reported broken just after 8:15 a.m. on March 20. The case is under investigation.
• Graffiti on a fence in the 700 block of G Street was reported at approximately 7:30 p.m. on March 20. The case is under investigation.
Failure to register
• Steven Schlomer, 30, of Centralia, was arrested on behalf of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office at the intersection of North Tower Avenue and East Magnolia street just after 8:40 a.m. on March 20 for failure to register as a sex offender. Schlomer is registered in Lewis County as a transient Level 2 sex offender, with a 2018 third-degree child molestation conviction, a 2020 indecent exposure conviction and a 2025 indecent exposure conviction on his record, according to information released by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Change of plea
• Nickolas Lee Carleson Holmgren, 20, of Chehalis, pleaded guilty March 19 to one count each of attempting to elude pursuing police, DUI, reckless driving, reckless endangerment and minor in possession of alcohol. Sentencing is scheduled for April 9.
• Justin Emmett Green, 32, of Randle, pleaded guilty March 19 to five counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, one count of possession of a stolen firearm and one count of possession of a short barreled firearm. Sentencing is scheduled for April 23.
Sentencing
• Erik Kristopher-Martin Grote, 41, of Tacoma, pleaded guilty March 19 to one count each of attempting to elude pursuing police and DUI. He was sentenced to 364 days in jail with 332 days suspended and credit for 32 days served. He is required to serve 24 months on probation.
FIRE AND EMS CALLS
• Between Wednesday morning and Friday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 45 illness-related calls, 19 injury-related calls, four fire-related calls, six non-emergency service calls, one vehicle accidents, two Lifeline medical alerts, one overdose, four suicide-related calls, one 911-hangup call and two other calls.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 137 inmates, including 127 in the general population and 10 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 100 were reported male and 27 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, eight were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Friday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 16 inmates, including six booked by the Centralia Police Department, three booked by the state Department of Corrections, two booked by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, two booked by the La Push Quileute Nation, one booked by the Lummi Nation, one booked by the Skokomish Tribe and one booked by the Tulalip Tribe.
