Sirens: Lost child returned to family; knife involved in fight between juveniles; DUI, assault, theft arrests

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Jeremy Stray, 43, Tacoma, was arrested for burglary after he allegedly stole numerous items from a business in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 9:07 p.m. March 27. Stray had previously been trespassed from the business, according to police. Officers also booked Stray on an outstanding warrant.

• Timothy D. Lovette, 46, Yelm, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly consuming alcohol in public in the 1200 block of Belmont Avenue at about 10:57 a.m. March 28. Officers also trespassed Lovette from a church property where he was allegedly acting disorderly before his arrest.

• Jacob W. Daily, 48, Winlock, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged harassment in the 100 block of West Maple Street at about 11:46 a.m. March 28. Daily allegedly approached an individual’s car, began taking photos and made threats of violence when the owner confronted him.

Accidents

• A two-vehicle non-injury collision was reported near the corner of North Washington Avenue and West Main Street at about 10:24 a.m. March 27.

Agency assist

• A family found a lost child wandering in the neighborhood and supervised the child while calling 911 in the 700 block of F Street at about 6:19 p.m. March 28. Officers located the child’s family and helped return the child home.

Assault

• An assault between household members was reported in the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road at about 10:18 a.m. March 27. The case is under investigation.

• Officers responded to a report of a bleeding male lying on the sidewalk in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue at about 1:11 a.m. March 30. According to police, the male appeared to be intoxicated and was unable to provide any information. Officers were unable to locate witnesses. The case is under investigation as a possible assault.

Criminal trespass

• A transient male was trespassed from a location after he set up camp in the 500 block of North Railroad Avenue at about 10:16 a.m. March 28.

• Teresa L. Leys, 56, Centralia, was arrested near the corner of East Main Street and South Railroad Avenue at about 12:40 p.m. March 29 and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree criminal trespass and opening/consuming alcoholic beverages in public.

Dispute

• Officers responded to a reported neighborhood dispute involving multiple juveniles and the display of a knife in the 2900 block of Mount Vista Road at about 3:10 p.m. March 27. The case remains under investigation.

DUI

• Roxanna O’Connor, 75, Napavine, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence in the 100 block of West Cherry Street at about 8:36 p.m. March 28.

• Juan Dircio Reyes, 28, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence in the 200 block of North Washington Avenue at about 2:48 a.m. March 29.

Nuisance violation

• A 50-year-old Chehalis woman was arrested and released for violating the city ordinance for camping on city property at the corner of North Silver Street and West Pine Street at about 10:04 a.m. March 27.

• A 33-year-old Centralia man was arrested and issued a criminal citation for camping in the roadway in the 700 block of South Gold Street at about 9:25 a.m. March 28 after police determined he had previously received warnings.



• A male was warned for violating the city camping ordinance in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at about 4:35 a.m. March 29. The male left with no further issue.

Robbery

• A suspect committed armed robbery with a pistol in the 1000 block of Ellsbury Street at about 4:34 p.m. March 28. According to police, the suspect stole multiple nicotine products and demanded money, then fled on foot to a vehicle before driving out of the area. After investigating, police arrested and booked a juvenile suspect into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center.

Theft

• Two unknown males were caught on camera breaking into a vending machine and stealing money from a local facility in the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard at about 10:52 a.m. March 27. The case is under investigation.

• Computer equipment was reported stolen from a local business out of a locked trailer in the 700 block of Allen Avenue at about 1:34 p.m. March 27. The case is under investigation.

• Several juveniles driving a vehicle with out-of-state plates reportedly stole five cases of beer from a local business in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at about 6:55 p.m. March 27.

• ​​A theft occurred at a local business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at about 7:26 p.m. March 28. The suspect was outstanding at the time.

• An unidentified female stole a sex toy from a business in the 1000 block of South Gold Street at about 12:40 p.m. March 29.

• A BMX bike was reported stolen from the front porch of a residence in the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. March 29. There was no suspect information at the time.

Vehicle prowl

• Tools were reported stolen from a cargo trailer in the 2000 block of Johnson Road at about 2:34 p.m. March 27. The case is under investigation.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of March 27, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 166 inmates, including 153 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 129 were reported male and 24 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of March 30, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of nine inmates. Of those, six were from Centralia, two were from the Department of Corrections and one was from the Quileute Nation.
