CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Elsie Shirey, 64, Centralia, was arrested and booked in the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence after she drove her vehicle off the roadway and knocked down a light pole in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at about 10:14 p.m. Sept. 12.
• Nick A. Moe, 48, Centralia, was arrested for second-degree burglary, domestic violence; violation of a domestic violence protection order; unlawful imprisonment and obstructing a law enforcement officer at about 11:56 a.m. Sept. 13. Officers arrested Moe after he allegedly tried to escape through a second-floor window in the 2800 block of Russell Road. Moe was transported to the hospital for a fractured heel prior to being booked into the Lewis County Jail.
• Brody Rice, 26, Salkum, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree identity theft after allegedly providing another person’s identity information during a criminal investigation of shoplifting at a local business in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 10:37 p.m. Sept. 13.
• Corena Shunn, 63, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for second-degree criminal trespassing in the 1600 block of Johnson Road at about 10:40 p.m. Sept. 14, after she was allegedly located on private property where she had previously been provided a trespass warning.
• Gerald Dupree, 55, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree criminal impersonation in the 100 block of East Pine Street at about 12:27 a.m. Sept. 15 after he allegedly provided a false identity to avoid legal involvement with the Centralia Municipal Court related to a violation of the Centralia City Municipal Code.
Protection Order Violation
• An order violation was reported in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at about 11:46 a.m. Sept. 14. The violation reportedly occurred through electronic communications. This case was referred to the Centralia City prosecutor for charging.
Criminal Trespass
• A reported transient person was trespassed from a business in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at about 1:52 p.m. Sept. 13 after he ignored staff’s warnings not to obstruct vehicles attempting to enter their parking lot.
Possession of Meth
• Jack W. Mathews, 46, Arlington, was arrested and released for alleged possession of methamphetamine in the 200 block of East Locust Street at about 4:43 p.m. Sept. 12. Drug charges were referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office.
Accident
• A head-on collision on a one-way road was reported with suspected injuries at the corner of South Gold Street and Exhibitor Road at about 12:49 p.m. Sept. 13.
Hit-and-Run
• A hit-and-run collision was reported in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue at about 12:58 p.m. Sept. 12. The case is under investigation.
Theft
• A theft of a boat and tools was reported in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street at about 5:14 p.m. Sept. 12. The case is under investigation.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
• The Chehalis Police Department has not yet released its most recent call reports. Look for updated information in an upcoming edition of The Chronicle and at chronline.com when the reports are made available.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Sept. 15, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 191 inmates, including 178 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 145 were reported male and 33 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
