Sirens: Inmate with marijuana vape pen; landlord-tenant dispute leads to assault; DUI arrest in Centralia

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Jeffery D. Mills, 62, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault after allegedly assaulting another male during a landlord-tenant dispute in the 900 block of Vienna Lane at about 4:55 p.m. April 7.

Accidents

• A two-vehicle collision with no reported injuries occurred in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 12:53 p.m. April 6.

• A two-vehicle collision with no reported injuries occurred in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at about 3:20 p.m. April 6.

• A two-vehicle collision with no reported injuries occurred in the 1200 block of Lum Road at about 10:40 a.m. April 7.

Assault

• Officers responded to a reported assault in the 700 block of G Street at about 2:06 a.m. April 7 after a second-hand reporter said “her friend had just been assaulted by her brother,” according to police. Officers arrived at the scene to find the victim had left. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. The case is under investigation.

Burglary

• Officers responded to a reported burglary in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue at about 9:03 p.m. April 6.

Criminal trespass

• Keith Byman, 37, Longview, was arrested and booked after being trespassed from an area and then allegedly returning to the same location in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue at about 10:20 p.m. April 7.

DUI

• Kristin Tokstad, 57, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail after allegedly driving under the influence near the corner of East Sixth Street and B Street at about 8:20 p.m. April 6.

Malicious mischief

• Damage to a fuel tank was reported in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue at about 9:50 a.m. April 6. According to police, the suspect drilled a hole into — and emptied — the tank. The case is under investigation.



Harassment

• A male subject reportedly threatened a female’s life in the 400 block of West Main Street at about 1:34 p.m. April 6. The case is under investigation.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Teresa Moe, 20, Centralia, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at about 11:32 p.m. April 5. According to court documents, Moe was charged Tuesday, April 7, with one count of possession of a controlled substance while in a county or local correctional facility after jail staff allegedly found a marijuana vape pen in her possession.

• Sean Scheans was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged first-degree theft in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 5:47 p.m. April 6.

• Brianna J. Howard was cited and booked into jail for a warrant and alleged possession of a controlled substance in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at about 1:33 a.m. April 7.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of April 8, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 153 inmates, including 140 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 117 were reported male and 23 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of April 8, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 15 inmates. Of those, eight were from Centralia, one was from Napavine, five were from the Department of Corrections and one was from the Quileute Nation.
