Sirens: Illegal Burning; Theft; Assault; Crashes; Drugs

Theft

• Two sets of tires and wheels were stolen from a backyard in the 400 block of North Iron Street in the last few days, according to a report made at 8:20 a.m. Oct 13.

• Two generators were reported stolen from a residential garage in the 1300 block of Windsor Avenue at about 6 p.m. Oct. 12. The thefts occurred within the past month.

• An adult male stole food from a local business in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue and fled in a vehicle at about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 12.

 

Assault

• A 21-year-old Centralia man was referred to the Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for charges after assaulting medical staff at a facility in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road. The report was made at about 11 a.m. Oct. 13.

• A 43-year-old Centralia man was arrested at about 12:28 a.m. Oct. 14 for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend during a dispute in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road.

 

Crashes

• A two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Reynolds Road at about 1:18 p.m. Oct. 13.

 

Drugs

• A 39-year-old Puyallup man was cited for knowingly being in possession of a controlled substance after being contacted while sleeping in his vehicle and having smoking devices and suspected fentanyl pills in his possession. The report was made at about 5:50 a.m. Oct. 14 in the 1300 block of Emerson Road.

 

Illegal Burning

• A 41-year-old Centralia man was cited and released at about 8:32 a.m. Oct. 12 in the 1300 block of Central Boulevard for illegal burning at his residence. An officer arrived on scene and observed a metal barrel with dark smoke coming out of it. Upon closer inspection of the barrel, the officer could see that coated wires and other plastic items were being burned, which is a violation of state law.

 

Stolen Property

• A 37-year-old Centralia woman was arrested and booked into Lewis County Jail for an outstanding warrant and second-degree possession of stolen property after being found in possession of numerous stolen credit cards. The arrest was made at the intersection of Old Airport Way and Mellen Street at about 9:53 a.m. Oct. 12.



 

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 200 block of South Pearl Street at about 10:34 a.m. Oct 12 after a vehicle attempted to pull out into traffic and was struck by a truck that had the right of way. The truck fled the scene and the struck vehicle was pushed into a parked vehicle. There was no suspect vehicle plate information.

 

Trespassing

• A transient male was trespassed from local businesses near the 1300 block of Lum Road after he allegedly went inside several stores and caused issues at about 11:15 a.m. Oct. 12.

 

Assault 

• An assault of a child was reported at about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 12 in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue. The case remains under investigation and no additional details were released.

 

Multiple Violations

• A 37-year-old Olympia woman was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle without ignition interlock and an outstanding Chehalis Municipal Court warrant for the same offenses at about 10:50 p.m. Oct. 12 near the intersection of West Roanoke Street and North Pearl Street.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 178 inmates, including 164 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 136 were male and 28 were female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
