Alleged Harming of Police Dog, Burglary

• Paul S. Bickle, 45, of Port Orchard, was arrested in the 600 block of North National Avenue just after 11:15 p.m. on March 28 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail just after 8:33 a.m. on March 29 for allegedly harming a police dog and attempting to elude, as well as alleged second-degree burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

 

Theft and Burglary

• Just after 11 a.m. on March 26, a burglary that occurred within the last week in the 200 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue was reported.

• A woman was arrested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 4:20 p.m. on March 26 for alleged third-degree theft and was released.

• Just before 5:30 p.m. on March 27, a caller reported that she lost her phone in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and alleged that someone was holding it for ransom.

• A third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue that was reported just after 8 p.m. on March 28 is under investigation.

Assault

  • A Chehalis woman was arrested in the 200 block of Southwest 11th Street just after 10:20 a.m. on March 27 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault. As of an April 30 update, all charges had been dismissed.

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue was reported just after 2:30 a.m. on March 29.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Assaults

• Brenton N. Klasen, 34, of Centralia, was arrested in the 3500 block of Steelhammer Drive just after 7 a.m. on March 26 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail on multiple warrants and for alleged fourth-degree assault.

• Just before 7:10 p.m. on March 26, a victim reported they were assaulted by three unknown individuals in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue.

 

Missing Wallet

• Just after 2:15 p.m. on March 26, a wallet was reported lost or stolen from the 1900 block of Cooks Hill Road. The incident is under investigation.

 

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run at the intersection of northbound Interstate 5 and Mellen Street was reported just after 7:05 p.m. on March 26.

 

Crash

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Johnson Road and Caveness Drive was reported just after 3 p.m. on March 27.

 

Sugar in Gas Tank

• At approximately 3:45 p.m. on March 27, a victim reported sugar was put in the gas tank of their vehicle in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road.

 

Minor in Possession of Alcohol

• A juvenile male in the 2800 block of Russell Road was referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office just before 12:50 a.m. on March 28 for being in possession of alcohol.

 

Theft and Burglary 

• A truck tailgate was reported stolen from the 2800 block of Russell Road just after 5:45 a.m. on March 28.

• Shoplifting from a business in the 1300 block of Lum Road was reported just after 5:05 p.m. on March 28.

• Joseph D. Cannon, 21, of Centralia, was arrested in the 1200 block of Alder Street at 5:25 p.m. on March 28 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree burglary.

• Shoplifting from a business in the 100 block of West High Street was reported at 6:20 p.m. on March 28.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 141 inmates, including 116 in the general population and 25 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 85 were reported male and 31 were reported female. All WERC inmates were reported male.
