Sirens: Girl says man followed her in Centralia; Man revived from overdose; Jail statistics

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Found property

• A wallet was turned in at the Centralia Police Department in the 500 block of North Pearl Street just after 10:10 a.m. on March 18. The wallet was later returned to its owner.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• Just after 3:30 p.m. on March 18, a 13-year-old girl in the 700 block of West Third Street reported being followed by an adult male in a passenger car. Officers tried locating the vehicle in the area and also utilized the Flock camera system, but no vehicles matching the description were located.

 

Department assist

• Centralia officers responded alongside fire personnel to an overdose in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue just before 9:30 p.m. on March 18. The victim, a Centralia man, was given Narcan and CPR. The male was transported by aid units to the hospital to be medically evaluated.

 

Criminal trespass

• Just before 9:05 a.m. on March 19, a business in the 1400 block of South Gold Street asked officers to trespass “a past employee who had previously made threats to harm coworkers.” The former employee was trespassed from the business.

• A homeless man was trespassed from private property in the 100 block of South Pearl Street at 1:30 a.m. on March 20 after an officer warned him for camping there. He was provided with information on local resources.

• A homeless Centralia resident was asked to leave a business in the 200 block of Centralia College Boulevard at 6:35 a.m. on March 20.

• A homeless Centralia resident and a homeless Pe Ell resident were trespassed from a business in the 1100 block of View Avenue just after 6:45 a.m. on March 20.

 

Dispute

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 2800 block of Russell Road just before 8 p.m. on March 19.

Drug violations

• A 33-year-old Centralia man was cited for knowing possession of fentanyl in the 100 block of South Pearl Street just after 9:50 p.m. on March 19 after an officer on “proactive patrol” saw the man using narcotics while he and a second subject were trespassing on private property. Medical aid was dispatched “due to suspected narcotics use.” Both subjects were warned for trespassing.

• Two women were given a verbal warning for possessing suspected narcotics in the 1000 block of Ellsbury Street just after 10:15 p.m. on March 19. An officer on “proactive patrol” had observed “a small bag containing a small amount of suspected fentanyl” inside the subjects’ vehicle. The women were “cooperative and allowed the officer to search the vehicle for drugs and drug paraphernalia, however no additional narcotics were located,” according to the Centralia Police Department. The women were referred to local resources for drug treatment.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Criminal trespass

• A subject was trespassed from a property in the 10 block of Southwest Fourth Street at 9:25 a.m. on March 18.

• Two homeless subjects were reportedly asked to leave private property in the 100 block of Northwest State Avenue just after 7:45 p.m. on March 18.

• A man was reportedly “digging through the dumpster (and) throwing trash everywhere” in the 600 block of Northwest Arkansas Way at 9:45 p.m. on March 18.

 

Assault

• An assault that occurred in the 1000 block of 20th Street on March 13 was reported just before 11 a.m. on March 18.

• A third-degree assault reported in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street just before 12:55 p.m. on March 18 is under investigation.

• Just before 7:20 p.m. on March 19, a citizen in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street reported her 9-year-old son came home “with scratches, marks and bruises all over from kids hitting him on the playground.”

• A fourth-degree assault reported in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just after 7:30 p.m. on March 19 is under investigation.

 



Malicious mischief

• At approximately 12:05 p.m. on March 18, a resident in the 700 block of Southeast Adams Avenue reported someone had written the word “whore” with red spray paint in the grass between the sidewalk and the street on her property.

 

Hit-and-run

• A hit-and-run reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 1:05 p.m. on March 18 is under investigation.

 

Dispute

• A possible dispute was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 6:10 p.m. on March 18.

• A possible verbal dispute was reported in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just before 2:20 p.m. on March 19.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 1900 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 9:40 p.m. on March 18.

• Just before 1:25 p.m. on March 19, a citizen made a second-hand report of a truck “loaded with a mountain of bicycles” in the 300 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue. The bicycles were reportedly “loaded up taller than the truck,” which was “overflowing with bicycles.”

• Three subjects were reportedly “messing with an electrical (device)” at the intersection of Northwest Pacific Avenue and Northwest Boistfort Street at 5:50 p.m. on March 19.

 

Scam

• A phone scam was reported in the 800 block of Southwest 16th Street just after 11:35 a.m. on March 19.

 

Drug violation

• A student reportedly brought an edible to school in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way at 10 a.m. On March 19.

Vehicle accident

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of North National Avenue and Northeast Coal Creek Road just after 5:25 p.m. on March 19.

 

Juvenile problem

• A parent in the 600 block of Southeast Dobson Court reported a “situation with his boy” just after 10:05 p.m. on March 19. The juvenile had reportedly scratched the parent’s vehicle with a scooter.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 44 illness-related calls, 15 injury-related calls, one Lifeline medical alert, six fire-related calls, two vehicle accidents, seven non-emergency service calls, three overdoses, two ambulance requests, one hazardous conditions report, one suspicious circumstances report, and one other call.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 167 inmates, including 153 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 125 were reported male and 28 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 19 inmates, including five booked by the Centralia Police Department, 11 booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the Lummi Nation and two booked by Chehalis Tribal Court.
