DUI Hit and Run
• Officers arrested Denise J. Quinonez, 60, of Chehalis, for suspicion of driving under the influence and a hit and run at 11:17 a.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. She was booked into the Lewis County Jail.
Truck Breaks Power Pole
• Police responded to a logging truck that hit overhead lines, causing the power pole to break in the 3000 block of Galvin Road in Centralia at 11:48 a.m. Wednesday. The road was closed for crews to clean up. The truck was empty at the time.
Failed Mail Theft
• Officers received a report of someone unsuccessfully trying to pry open mailboxes in the 1200 block of Lum Road in Centralia at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday.
What’s for Dinner?
• Police received a report of a burglary where four cellphones, a jar of change and frozen food from a freezer where stolen. The burglary occurred in the 700 block of G Street in Centralia and was reported at 8:16 p.m. Wednesday.
Subwoofer Stolen
• Police received a report of a vehicle prowl on South Tower Avenue in Centralia at 10:31 a.m. Tuesday. The suspect allegedly attempted to take stereo equipment, but was only able to take the subwoofer, a speaker component that plays low bass frequencies.
Fight Under Investigation
• Police are investigating a report of a fight with multiple participants in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue in Centralia at 7:37 p.m. Tuesday.
DUI Stop Leads to Stolen Car Recovery
• At about 3:53 p.m. Tuesday Centralia Police received a report that a vehicle was stolen in the 1500 block of Pike Street in Centralia. About one hour later, the vehicle was recovered when a Lewis County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested the suspect who was allegedly driving under influence. Amanda B. Smith, 22, of Centralia, who also had an outstanding warrant, was booked into the Lewis County Jail.
Hit and Run Somewhere
• A victim reported at 9:08 a.m. Tuesday that her vehicle was involved in a hit and run, but didn’t know when or where it occurred.
Chehalis Police Department
Littering Onto Freeway
• Officers received a report of three people on the overpass in the 600 block of Chamber of Commerce Way in Chehalis throwing things onto Interstate 5 at 11:53 p.m. Wednesday.
Girl Allegedly Stabs Sister
• A 14-year-old girl allegedly stabbed her older sister, a 17-year-old girl, with a kitchen knife in the left thigh after a verbal fight between the two in the 600 block of Northwest Quincy Place in Chehalis turned physical. Police received the report at 4:12 p.m. Tuesday. The victim also received a cut on her ear, but was not transported for treatment. The 14-year-old girl was arrested and booked for second-degree assault.
