MORTON POLICE DEPARTMENT

Morton Incidents

• An officer was dispatched to a dispute in the 300 block of Kosmos Lane just before 7:55 p.m. on May 30. An informational report was taken.

• An officer was dispatched to Gus Backstrom Park just before 9:40 p.m. on May 30 regarding a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle left before the officer arrived.

• An officer responded to Morton High School just before 1:50 p.m. on June 1 to assist with a lockdown due to a medical/emotional issue with a special needs child. The officer spoke with the child and stood by until the school was safely able to return to normal activities.

• An officer received a call from Arbor Health Hospital just after 3:10 p.m. on June 2 regarding an upset patient. The individual did not respond to the officers’ attempts to contact them via cell phone.

• An officer was dispatched to perform a welfare check on a juvenile just before 10:35 a.m. on June 3. The child was observed to be “in good spirits” and an informational report was taken.

• An officer was dispatched to Chevron Gas Plus just before 12:10 p.m. on June 3 regarding a civil matter.

• An officer was dispatched to a phone harassment complaint in the 300 block of Kosmos Lane at 6:25 p.m. on June 4. Upon arrival, the officer observed a male subject banging and yelling at the front door of the homeowner who lodged the complaint. The officer convinced the subject to leave the home and notified him he was trespassed from the property.

• An officer was dispatched to Chevron Gas Plus at 4 a.m. on June 5 regarding a dispute in progress. The officer did not locate any dispute when they arrived.

 

Mossyrock Incidents

• An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Coleman Road just after 9:20 a.m. on May 31 regarding an abandoned vehicle. An informational report was taken.

• An officer was dispatched to Mossyrock High School just before 6 p.m. on June 2 regarding a juvenile problem. An informational report was taken.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 900 block of G Street at approximately 1:50 p.m. on June 6.

 

DUI

• Eric J. Raas-Carl, 31 of Centralia, was arrested at the intersection of North Gold and East Maple streets just before 6:40 p.m. on June 6 and was booked into Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence after he was involved in a collision in which he allegedly failed to stop at a red flashing light. He was also booked for reckless endangerment charges since he had a juvenile passenger under 16 years of age in the vehicle at the time of the collision while he was impaired, according to police.

 

Vehicle Accident

• A minor, non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 4 p.m. on June 7. One of the involved drivers was cited for driving with a suspended license.

 

Malicious Mischief

• A window was reportedly broken out of a parked car in the 1500 block of Lewis Street at approximately 8:10 p.m. on June 6.

• Graffiti was reported on a building in the 200 block of West Main Street just after 11:45 a.m. on June 7.

• Graffiti was reported on a building in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue just before 11:10 p.m. on June 7.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• A briefcase was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 3100 block of Russell Road just before 4:30 a.m. on June 7.

• At 12:10 p.m. on June 7, a vehicle prowl that occurred in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue sometime overnight was reported.

• A diaper bag was reported stolen out of a van in the 300 block of Lowe Street just after 6:30 p.m. on June 7. The suspect was reportedly driving a blue Ford Explorer and had broken the window out of the van to steal the diaper bag.

• Change was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 900 block of L Street just after 1:15 a.m. on June 8.

 

Identity Theft

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 500 block of South Washington Avenue at approximately 11:15 a.m. on June 7 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged identity theft.

 

Vehicle Theft and Recovery

• Just after 9:05 a.m. on June 7, a silver Jeep Wrangler was reported stolen from a car lot in the 1000 block of South Gold Street sometime overnight.

• A vehicle that was reported stolen out of Winlock was recovered in the 1300 block of Windsor Avenue at 9 p.m. on June 7.

 



Other Theft

• A Maine man and a Raymond woman were cited for allegedly stealing a jump pack and clothing from the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at 2:30 p.m. on June 7.

• A cellphone was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Mellen Street at approximately 3:35 p.m. on June 7.

• A skateboard was reported stolen from the 700 block of Harrison Avenue just after 4 p.m. on June 7.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from the 400 block of West Main Street at 5:30 p.m. on June 7.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Disorderly Conduct

• A man with an ax was reportedly “throwing a bunch of stuff around” in the 10 block of North Market Boulevard at 9:40 a.m. on June 6.

• A disorderly customer was trespassed from a business in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just after 11:30 a.m. on June 6.

 

Disputes

• Two teenagers reportedly got into a fist fight at a football field in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street at 12:10 p.m. on June 6. No arrests were made. Officials are reviewing video of the incident.

• A physical dispute between a man and a woman was reported in the 700 block of North National Avenue at 3:50 p.m. on June 6.

 

Harassment

• At 3:50 p.m. on June 6, a caller in the 200 block of Southwest James Street reported someone had threatened to shoot them 10 minutes prior. No arrests were made.

• A possible harassment case was reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue at 4:30 p.m. on June 7.

• A possible harassment case was reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just after 5:55 p.m. on June 7.

• A case of phone harassment was reported in the 500 block of Southwest William Avenue at approximately 8:25 p.m. on June 7.  The reporting party stated they believed friends were prank calling them.

 

Sexual Misconduct

• A case of child molestation reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 12:20 p.m. on June 6 is under investigation.

 

Assault

• A man was arrested in the 200 block of Southwest Second Street at 4:05 p.m. on June 6 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault after he allegedly broke down a woman’s door and threw items at her.

 

Theft

• A spoiler was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 600 block of Northeast Franklin Avenue just after 2:15 p.m. on June 6.

• A theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 9:40 p.m. on June 6 is under investigation.

• A third-degree theft reported in the 600 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue at 12:15 p.m. on June 7 is under investigation.

• Two subjects were cited for second-degree burglary in the 1600 of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 1:30 p.m. on June 7 after they allegedly stole a Starbucks drink and a phone case.

• At approximately 2:15 p.m. on June 7, a subject was cited for a third-degree theft that occurred in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue sometime the previous night.

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3:45 p.m. on June 7 is under investigation.

 

Hit-and-Run

• At approximately 6 p.m. on June 7, a caller reported a hit-and-run that occurred in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue three weeks prior. The suspect reportedly took the victim's vehicle's front license plate.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 132 inmates, including 120 in the general population and 12 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 103 were reported male and 17 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 10 were reported male and two were reported female.
