CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Kenneth M. Daniel, 41, West Virginia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged possession of a controlled substance and use/delivery of drug paraphernalia in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue at about 11:37 a.m. Oct. 7. Daniel was allegedly found with narcotic materials in a motel room when staff entered to perform routine cleaning. After police took him into custody, Daniel allegedly admitted the materials belonged to him.
• Oscar Esquivel Bernal, 37, Mount Vernon, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged possession of a controlled substance, use/delivery of drug paraphernalia, first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree malicious mischief in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue at about 11:37 a.m. Oct. 7.
• Porsha Lester, 38, Seattle, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged retail theft with extenuating circumstances and felony violation of a domestic violence no-contact order in the 1400 block of Lum Road at about 1:14 p.m. Oct. 8. Jareic Vanga, 27, Tacoma, was also arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged retail theft with extenuating circumstances.
• Donnie D. Driver, 42, Rochester, was arrested in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at about 8:57 p.m. Oct. 8 and booked into the Lewis County Jail for obstructing a public servant and use/delivery of drug paraphernalia after he allegedly tried to walk away from a lawful detention by law enforcement during an investigation. Police allegedly found Driver in possession of a suspected methamphetamine pipe at the time of arrest.
Accidents
• A two-vehicle collision with no injuries was reported near the corner of North Pearl Street and West Oakview Avenue at about 8:06 p.m. Oct. 8.
Agency assist
• Officers began assisting Child Protective Services with a report of possible child abuse in the 1100 block of G Street at about 9:54 a.m. Oct. 7. The case is under investigation.
• Officers responded to a Lewis County Sheriff’s Office deputy who had requested assistance with an assaultive suspect in the 100 block of Loop Road at about 11:39 a.m. Oct. 8. Police successfully took the suspect into custody. The deputy was unharmed.
Custodial interference
• Officers received a report of custodial interference in the 1200 block of B Street at about 9 p.m. Oct. 8. The victim’s child was reportedly returned home after officers became involved. Police said the suspect is being referred for criminal charges.
Drug violation
• Misty D. Fuller, 47, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail on an outstanding warrant and alleged use/delivery of drug paraphernalia in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at about 5:54 p.m. Oct. 7.
DUI
• Nichol E. Mardini, 38, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence near the corner of Harrison Avenue and Galvin Road at about 5:05 p.m. Oct. 7. Officers located Nichol after a citizen reported dangerous driving.
• Tyjana M. Campbell, 49, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for allegedly driving under the influence near the corner of East First Street and B Street at about 7:03 p.m. Oct. 8 after her vehicle got stuck on railroad tracks. Responding police reported observing signs of impairment.
Protection order violation
• Officers received a report of a potential protection order violation in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue at about 8:23 p.m. Oct. 7. The case is under investigation.
Theft
• Joseph K. Hansen, 33, Mossyrock, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged third-degree theft in the 900 block of North Pearl Street at about 9:08 p.m. Oct. 7. Police said Hansen went onto the porch of a residence and stole a pair of shoes. Hansen reportedly dropped the shoes after he was confronted by the homeowner. Hansen allegedly admitted to stealing the shoes after police contacted him.

JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Oct. 9, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 137 inmates, including 124 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 104 were reported male and 20 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Oct. 9, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 19 inmates. Of those, six were from Centralia, one was from Napavine and six were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were four from the Lummi Nation and one each from the Tulalip Tribe and the Skokomish Tribe.
