Sirens: DUI arrests; counterfeit $100 bill reported; officers assist with shooting investigation; Lewis County Jail statistics

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Jonathan C. Siler, 30, of Centralia, was arrested and released for possession of drug paraphernalia at the intersection of Russell Road and Harrison Avenue at about 10:17 p.m. July 20. Genevieve J. Molina, 42, of Centralia, was also arrested and released for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

• Luis F. Loa Martinez, 36, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail at around 3:57 p.m. July 19 for driving under the influence after he was contacted by law enforcement for crashing his vehicle into several posts in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue.

• Sophia E. Geiszler, 60, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail at around 11:51 p.m. July 19 on multiple counts of third-degree theft and possession of a controlled substance after she was caught shoplifting in the 1000 block of South Yew Street.

• Hunter M. Ensrud, 30, of Chehalis, was arrested and issued a criminal citation for reckless driving at about 1:35 a.m. July 20 after officers observed him driving at speeds of about 100 mph on Interstate 5.

• Jacob M. Mielitz, 34, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at around 10:49 a.m. July 18 in the 2600 block of Seward Avenue for violating a protection order, which is a felony charge due to prior similar violations.

• Raina J. Lalonde, 22, of Spokane Valley, and Estebon E. Perkins, 41, of Centralia, were arrested at about 3:09 p.m. July 18 and released for possessing narcotics and drug paraphernalia in the 1800 block of North Pearl Street.

• Joseph A. Herschler, 38, of Rochester, was arrested and released at around 6:39 p.m. July 18 for driving without an ignition interlock device at the corner of Harrison Avenue and Ives Road.

• Barbara A. Haase, 63, of Chehalis, was arrested and released at around 2:39 a.m. July 19 for first-degree trespassing in the 200 block of Centralia College Boulevard.

• Oscar O. Guerro, 39, of Chehalis was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail at around 12:29 a.m. July 19 for driving under the influence and for driving without a valid operator’s license at the corner of South Gold Street and Exhibitor Road.

Forgery

• Officers are investigating a forgery where the suspect attempted to pass a fake $100 bill at around 8:05 a.m. July 21 in the 2300 block of North Pearl Street. This case is still under active investigation, according to a news release from the Centralia Police Department.



Theft

• Officers investigated a theft from a grocery store at about 6:52 p.m. July 20 in the 1000 block of South Yew Street.

• A charging bank, used to charge electronics, was stolen at around 4:09 p.m. July 18 after it was left unattended in the 100 block of South Silver Street.

Department Assist

• Officers assisted the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office with a shooting investigation at around 10:05 p.m. July 19 after one of the victims was transported to a local hospital. It was believed that the suspect may follow the victim to the hospital, so officers provided scene security in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and assisted in preserving potential evidence, according to a news release from the Centralia Police Department.  See more here.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Chehalis Police Department has not released its call reports this week. Look for updated information in an upcoming edition of The Chronicle and at chronline.com when the reports are made available.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 189 inmates, including 174 in the general population and 15 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 150 were reported male and 24 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and three were reported female.
