CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Prowl

• A vehicle prowl reported in the 600 block of Southwest William Avenue just after 12:25 p.m. on Aug. 1 is under investigation.

• At 7:50 a.m. on Aug. 2, a vehicle prowl that occurred in the 600 block of Southwest 20th Street sometime overnight was reported.

 

Other Theft

• A case of theft reported in the 2100 block of Southwest Woodland Circle just after 6:40 a.m. on Aug. 3 is under investigation.

 

Unattended in Cars

• At 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 1, there was a report of an unattended dog in a vehicle in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way.

• Three children under the age of two were reportedly unattended inside a vehicle with its windows rolled up in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just after 10:05 p.m. on Aug. 2. The children’s mother returned and departed in the vehicle before officers arrived.

 

Disputes

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 400 block of Northeast Washington Avenue at 2:45 p.m. on Aug. 1.

• Just after 11:40 a.m. on Aug. 2, a man who was part of a political demonstration at the intersection of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way and Northwest Louisiana Avenue reportedly threw a rock at a car. The man reportedly got upset at a comment the driver made, yelled “fake news” and threw a rock at the driver’s vehicle. No arrests were made.

• A subject was cited following a dispute reported in the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue just after 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 2.

 

Drugs in the Bathroom 

• A man who was reportedly “smoking drugs or doing drugs” in the restroom of a business in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard was trespassed from a business just after 4:10 p.m. on Aug. 1 after customers complained about “a chemical smell coming out of the bathroom.”

 

Disorderly Conduct

• A disorderly subject was trespassed from a business in the 500 block of West Main Street at 4:25 p.m. on Aug. 1.

• A disorderly subject was arrested in the 700 block of Northwest State Avenue just after 6:35 p.m. on Aug. 1 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Prowl

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 300 block of South Street at 8:10 a.m. on Aug. 1.

 

Vehicle Theft and Recovery

• A 2015 Honda CBR motorcycle was reported stolen from the 1400 block of Johnson Road at 10:20 a.m. on Aug. 1.

• A stolen vehicle was located in the 3800 block of Galvin Road just after 7:05 p.m. on Aug. 1 and was returned to its owner.

• A vehicle was reported stolen from the 200 block of East Chestnut Street just before 12:15 a.m. on Aug. 2.

 

Other Theft

• Shoes were reported stolen from an outlet store in the 1300 block of Lum Road just before 3:35 p.m. on Aug. 1.

• The front license plate to a vehicle was reported stolen from the 200 block of Harrison Avenue at 7:20 p.m. on Aug. 2.

• Just after 8:55 a.m. on Aug. 2, gas was reported stolen from the 600 block of Harrison Avenue sometime overnight.

 

Assault

• A Lakewood woman was referred to the prosecutor’s office for possible fourth-degree assault, domestic violence charges following an incident reported at approximately 1 p.m. on Aug. 1 in the 2400 block of Reynolds Avenue.

• A fourth-degree assault was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 12:15 a.m. on Aug. 2. No arrests were made.

 

Vehicle Accidents



• A non-injury, single-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Johnson Road and Harrison Avenue just after 3:45 p.m. on Aug. 1.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported on private property in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Aug. 1.

• Injuries were reported following a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision at the intersection of Mellen Street and northbound Interstate 5 just before 7:10 a.m. on Aug. 2.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 700 block of West Main Street just after 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 2.

 

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 4:10 p.m. on Aug. 1.

 

Disorderly Conduct

• A Centralia man was referred to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges just before 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 2 after he allegedly interfered with a health care facility in the 1800 block of Cooks Hill Road by throwing papers and yelling at staff.

 

Criminal Impersonation

• An Olympia man was arrested in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 12:05 p.m. on Aug. 2 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for criminal impersonation after he allegedly provided a false name in an effort to avoid being arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.

 

Malicious Mischief

• At approximately 9:35 p.m. on Aug. 2, a victim reported their boyfriend damaged their property during a dispute in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road. The case is still under investigation.

 

MORTON POLICE DEPARTMENT

Morton Incidents

• An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Klasey Road just before 11:30 a.m. on July 7 regarding a suspicious person. The officer spoke with the individuals, who were looking for old bottles in the creek. The officer informed them they were on private property and they agreed to move along.

• An officer was dispatched to Security State Bank just before 2:40 p.m. on July 8 regarding a disorderly individual. The officer spoke with the individual and an informational report was taken.

• An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Wood Avenue just after 1:20 p.m. on July 9 regarding a theft complaint. The investigation is pending further information.

• An officer was dispatched to the Seasons Hotel just before 9:50 p.m. on July 9 regarding a complaint of a man “cursing and pounding on the table.” When the officer arrived, she found a juvenile with a gaming headset and controller. The juvenile apologized and stated he didn’t realize how loud he was.

• An officer was dispatched to the Tilton River bridge just after 3:10 p.m. on July 24 regarding juveniles jumping from the bridge. The officer contacted the individuals and gave them a verbal warning that jumping from the bridge is a violation of city ordinances.

• An officer was dispatched to the area of Cherry Street and Main Avenue at 9:25 p.m. on July 24 regarding a dispute.

• An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Third Street at 4:50 a.m. on July 25 regarding a domestic dispute. A man was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

• An officer was dispatched to the Arbor Health Hospital at 7 p.m. on July 26 regarding a disorderly man in the hospital parking lot. The officer spoke with the individual and notified them the hospital staff requested they not return to the hospital, where a family member was being treated.

• An officer was dispatched to a burglary alarm at Security State Bank just before 8:50 a.m. on July 27. The alarm was determined to be false.

• An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Division Avenue just before 10:05 a.m. on July 29 regarding an assault. This is an ongoing investigation.

• An officer was dispatched to the Arbor Health Hospital just before 6 p.m. on July 30 regarding a suspicious vehicle. An informational report was taken.

• An officer was dispatched to a dispute between neighbors in the 200 block of Cherry Lane at 7:25 p.m. on July 30. Both parties agreed to separate and an informational report was taken.

• An officer was dispatched to a suspicious circumstances complaint in the 100 block of State Street just before 9:45 p.m. on July 30. An informational report was taken.

• An officer was dispatched to Arbor Health Hospital at 10:50 p.m. on July 30 regarding a disorderly individual. An informational report was taken.

 

Mossyrock Incidents

• An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of State Street just after 12:10 p.m. on July 29 regarding a civil dispute. An informational report was taken.

• An officer was dispatched to a suspicious circumstances complaint in the 100 block of State Street just before 9:45 p.m. on July 30. An informational report was taken.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 163 inmates, including 144 in the general population and 19 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 115 were reported male and 29 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 16 were reported male and three were reported female.
