CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Accidents
• A vehicle collided with a light pole at the corner of Haviland Street and Lum Road at about 3:05 a.m. July 26. No injuries were reported. Police reportedly assessed the driver for impairment but found insufficient evidence to support an arrest.
Criminal trespass
• Manuel Barrios Jr., 31, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged first-degree criminal trespass in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road at about 2:10 p.m. July 25.
DUI
• Owen C. Hathaway, 26, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence in the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue at about 4:12 p.m. July 25.
Fraud
• Credit card fraud was reported in the 1300 block of South Gold Street at about noon July 24. The case is under investigation.
Arrests
• Kelvin Kempf, 39, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged theft in the 2800 block of Russell Road at about 7:41 a.m. July 26.
• Amy R. Gomez Moreno, 35, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrants and alleged possession of a controlled substance and use/delivery of drug paraphernalia in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue at about 7:37 p.m. July 26.
Harassment
• Charges of harassment were referred to the Centralia city prosecutor regarding a neighborhood dispute in which threats of violence were made in the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue at about 3:57 p.m. July 24.
Nuisance violation
• A 37-year-old Centralia man was issued a citation for allegedly having an open alcohol container in public near the corner of Borst Avenue and Belmont Avenue at about 8:21 a.m. July 26.
Physical control of motor vehicle while under the influence
• Pedro A. Tomas-Juan, 35, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the 1300 block of South Gold Street at about 2:27 p.m. July 25.
Scam
• Fraudulent bank charges were discovered and reported in the 600 block of South Gold Street at about 2:31 p.m. July 24. The charges were believed to have originated from an overseas source. No additional information was available at the time.
Theft
• Medication was reportedly stolen from a residence in the 400 block of North Ash Street at about 1:34 p.m. July 25.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests and citations
• Melissa L. Roush, 51, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for an outstanding Lewis County warrant and issued a criminal citation for allegedly resisting arrest in the 800 block of Southeast Adams Avenue at about 2:35 p.m. July 23.
• Matthew K. Lenoue, 36, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for two counts of alleged fourth-degree assault in the 100 block of Newaukum Village Drive at about 3:15 p.m. July 23.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of July 27, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 151 inmates, including 137 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 112 were reported male and 25 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and three were reported female.
• As of July 27, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 24 inmates. Of those, four were from Centralia, one was from Elma and 11 were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were three from the Lummi Nation and one each from the Quileute Nation, the Shoalwater Bay Tribe, the Skokomish Tribe, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Chehalis Tribe.
