CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Davian M. Herrera, 20, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on possible charges of attempting to elude a police vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and DUI in the 700 block of South Pearl Street at about 10:17 p.m. Aug. 28. According to police, Herrera allegedly fled from a Centralia officer before abandoning his damaged vehicle. Officers reportedly contacted Herrera, who allegedly said he was not driving and was in California. Herrera later said he was in Oregon, according to police. Officers reportedly found Herrera walking in Centralia a short time later. Upon his arrest, Herrera allegedly showed signs of impairment. Officers reportedly found alcohol and suspected cocaine in his possession.
• Timothy D. Lovette, 46, Yelm, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree vehicle prowl in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue at about 6:42 p.m. Aug. 29. According to police, Lovette allegedly admitted to opening a car to check for keys inside so he could take the car.
Accidents
• Officers investigated a vehicle collision with no reported injuries near the corner of South Pearl Street and West Walnut Street at about 1:58 p.m. Aug. 28.
• A two-vehicle collision with no injuries was reported near the corner of South Yew Street and West Main Street at about 2:51 p.m. Aug. 28.
• A two-vehicle collision with no injuries was reported in the 500 block of North Tower Avenue at about 3:45 p.m. Aug. 28.
• A three-vehicle collision was reported near the corner of Harrison Avenue and northbound Interstate 5 at about 11:05 a.m. Aug. 30. Police said one driver suffered minor injuries.
Assault
• Officers responded to a reported physical assault in the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue at about 1:14 p.m. Aug. 29. The case is under investigation.
Criminal trespass
• Jimmie Gertson III, 47, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree criminal trespass in the 100 block of East Chestnut Street at about 11:56 a.m. Aug. 29.
Drug violation
• William J. Larson, 53, Centralia, was arrested in the 1500 block of Lum Road at about 11:23 a.m. Aug. 28 and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for allegedly violating his conditions of release with the Department of Corrections. Larson was also issued a criminal citation for alleged possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.
• Police conducted a traffic stop on Danica A. Nikolich, 45, and Kyle B. Fagernes, 41, both of Centralia, in the 1200 block of Mellen Street at about 12:54 a.m. Aug. 29. K9 Hector detected the possible presence of narcotics inside their vehicle. Nikolich was subsequently arrested and issued a criminal citation for alleged possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia. Fagernes was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding Lewis County District Court warrant.
• Thaddeus P. Byrnes, 38, Centralia, was arrested and released with a criminal citation for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance in the 900 block of H Street at about 6:08 a.m. Aug. 31.
Malicious mischief
• Richard J. Delgado, 40, Olympia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence) and resisting arrest in the 2300 block of Sirkka Avenue at about 3:40 p.m. Aug. 28.
• Jordan T. Conwell, 26, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence) after he allegedly damaged a vehicle in the 400 block of East Summa Street at about 10:26 p.m. Aug. 28.
• Damage to a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of North Tower Avenue at about 6:38 a.m. Aug. 31. There was no further information at the time.
Reckless endangerment
• Joseph Criss, 26, Centralia, was issued a criminal citation for reckless endangerment after he allegedly threw numerous apples into the street in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 12:55 p.m. Aug. 29.
Theft
• Cynthia L. Mays, 48, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail after store staff allegedly caught her shoplifting in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 2:39 p.m. Aug. 28.
• A bicycle was reported stolen in the 600 block of South Pearl Street at about 7:53 p.m. Aug. 29.
• Joshua A. Loney, 33, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged third-degree theft and use of drug paraphernalia in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 1:55 p.m. Aug. 30.
Vehicle prowl
• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue at about 3:26 p.m. Aug. 30. There was no suspect information at the time.

JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Aug. 31, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 167 inmates, including 154 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 119 were reported male and 35 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Aug. 31, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 10 inmates. Of those, two were from Centralia and six were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were one each from the Lummi Nation and the Chehalis Tribal Court.
