Sentencings
• Nicholas A. Judson, 41, Centralia, was sentenced March 11 to 364 days in jail with 362 days suspended and two days of credit for time served after pleading guilty to one count each of making a false or misleading statement to a public servant, third-degree introducing contraband and abuse of office. Judson was ordered to pay the court $500 in fees. Judson was previously accused of receiving a food order for an incarcerated individual at Green Hill School on March 30, 2025, that was intercepted and found to contain 1.3 pounds of THC concentrate. • Matthew M. Allison, 46, Vader, was sentenced March 13 to 30 days in jail and one year of community custody after a jury found him guilty of three counts of malicious prosecution. Allison was previously accused of falsely alleging that two sheriff’s deputies had committed voyeurism and later alleging another had committed assault. • Craig D. Ballard, 39, was sentenced March 13 to two years of community custody and up to six months of inpatient treatment as part of a residential drug offender sentencing alternative (DOSA) after making an Alford plea to one count of third-degree assault, according to court documents. Additional charges were dropped. Ballard was originally charged with three felonies after being accused of attacking a Winlock resident with a metal pole. • Andrew John Simione, 47, Winlock, was sentenced March 18 to 89 months to life in prison and lifetime community custody after pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree child molestation. • Christopher M. Urga, 54, Seattle was sentenced March 18 to 16 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count each of second-degree organized retail theft, attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle and hit-and-run of an attended vehicle. An additional count of possession of a stolen vehicle was dismissed following the state’s motion. Urga was previously accused of fleeing through Centralia before crashing his car after a failed group theft at a Nike outlet store. • Donald Ray Hamilton Jr., 56, Onalaska, was sentenced March 23 to 38 months in prison and 22 months of community custody after making an Alford plea to two counts of third-degree child molestation. Hamilton also made Barr pleas to two counts of third-degree assault of a child. Additional charges were dropped. Hamilton originally faced up to life in prison after being charged with eight felony child sexual assault charges and one gross misdemeanor for allegedly abusing a teenage girl between August 2018 and March 2025, according to previous Chronicle reporting. Arraignments
• Shane Pedersen, 51, Pe Ell, pleaded not guilty to one count each of second-degree assault and felony harassment on March 26, after he was accused of threatening to shoot a man and his dog. Pedersen remains in custody in lieu of $75,000 in bail, according to Lewis County jail records.
CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Brianna M. Lawrence-White, 33, Centralia, was arrested after an alleged physical altercation with a family/household member in the 1000 block of North Scheuber Road at about 1:17 p.m. March 26.
Accidents
• A two-vehicle collision was reported near the corner of South Gold Street and Spruce Street at about 4:39 p.m. March 25.
• A two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue at about 9:03 a.m. March 26.
Criminal trespass
• A subject was trespassed from a local business in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 12:57 p.m. March 26.
Department assist
• K9 Havik assisted Lewis County sheriff’s deputies at a traffic stop near the corner of Downing Road and Big Hanaford Road at about 9:56 p.m. March 25. According to police, K9 Havik alerted to the odor of narcotics during the stop. Police located suspected methamphetamine following an executed search warrant.
Hit-and-run
• A citizen reported that a silver sedan had backed out of a neighboring driveway and collided with their truck in the 1000 block of Roosevelt Avenue at about 5:37 a.m. March 26. The suspect’s vehicle fled the scene. Police are investigating.
Malicious mischief
• Damage to a window was reported in the 100 block of South Silver Street at about 4:32 p.m. March 25.
Theft
• A victim reported a stolen debit card in the 200 block of Downing Road at about 9:02 p.m. March 25 after they noticed fraudulent charges from a local store.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

JAIL STATISTICS
• As of March 27, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 166 inmates, including 153 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 129 were reported male and 24 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of March 27, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 11 inmates. Of those, seven were from Centralia, three were from the Department of Corrections and one was from the Quileute Nation.
