Sirens: 'Dancing in the Roadway'; Change Stolen From Donation Box; Woman Found Sleeping in Vehicle

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Theft 

• At 7:35 a.m. on Dec. 26, an unknown male reportedly broke open the donation box for the Ronald McDonald House in the 1200 block of Lum Road and stole all the change. 

• Just after 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 26, a victim reported the theft of vaping equipment while staying at the cold weather shelter in the 100 block of North Gold Street. 

• Just before 9:40 a.m. on Dec. 26, an unknown suspect reportedly smashed a car window in the 1400 block of Kresky Avenue with a rock and stole cash from inside. 

• At 11:35 a.m. on Dec. 26, a convertible red Saturn was reported stolen out of the victim’s driveway in the 1500 block of Lum Road overnight and later recovered unoccupied. 

• At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 27, a caller in the 600 block of South Gold Street reported finding a female sleeping in his car overnight and later realizing he was missing cash from the vehicle. 

 

Vehicle Accident 

• A minor collision was reported at the intersection of South Pearl and West Plum streets at 8:35 a.m. on Dec. 26. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue just after 10:46 a.m. on Dec. 23.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard just before 12:55 p.m. on Dec. 23. 

• A vehicle reportedly went into a ditch at the intersection of Southeast Crestview Drive and Southeast Prospect Street at approximately 1:25 p.m. on Dec. 23. Officers were unable to respond due to icy conditions. 

• A vehicle reportedly slid off the roadway in the 6 block of Southeast 16th Street at approximately 1:40 p.m. on Dec. 23. Officers were unable to respond due to icy conditions. 

• A vehicle reportedly slid off the roadway in the 1500 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Dec. 23. 

• Just after 7:05 a.m. on Dec. 26, a caller reported a non-injury vehicle accident that occurred in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 1 p.m. on Dec. 24. 

• At approximately 9:15 a.m. on Dec. 26, a caller reported a vehicle hit a building in the 1200 block of South Market Boulevard on Dec. 24. 

• A three-vehicle, non-injury collision was reported in the 100 block of North Market Boulevard just after 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 27. 

 

Suspicious Circumstances 

• Just after 10:35 p.m. on Dec. 23, a caller in the 200 block of Southeast Washington Avenue reported a man was outside the building “banging on the building” and “screaming.” No arrests were made. 

• Just before 10 a.m. on Dec. 27, a caller reported a realtor showing a house she owns in the 10 block of South Fourth Street discovered the back sliding door to the residence was “busted,” indicating an attempted burglary. 

 

Harassment 

• A case of harassment involving an employee who made “strange statements” the day prior was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 10:50 a.m, on Dec. 24. 

• A man was reportedly harassing employees in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Dec. 25. 

Disputes 

• A physical dispute was reported in the 400 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 1:25 a.m. on Dec. 24. No arrests were made. 

• A family disturbance/dispute reported in the 100 block of Southwest Lewis Street just after 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 27 is under investigation. 



 

Theft 

• A case of shoplifting was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 4:05 p.m. on Dec. 24. 

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:35 p.m. on Dec. 26 is under investigation. 

• “Some small office items” were reported stolen from the 1800 block of North National Avenue at 12:55 p.m. on Dec. 27. 

  A case of identity theft reported in the 1700 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 4:35 p.m. on Dec. 27 is under investigation. 

• At 7:20 p.m. on Dec. 27, a caller reported “three guys just broke into a car and ‘stole a bunch of sh–t and went over the tracks’” at the intersection of Northwest Front and Northwest Park streets. 

 

Robbery 

• A robbery reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 24 is under investigation. 

 

Shooting Complaint 

• At approximately 9:55 p.m. on Dec. 24, a caller in the 200 block of Alderwood Drive reported hearing six or seven gunshots 10 minutes prior. 

 

Assault 

• A fourth-degree assault reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just before 11:45 p.m. on Dec. 25 is under investigation. 

 

Fraud 

  A case of non-specific fraud that was reported in the 400 block of Northwest Quincy Place at 12:05 p.m. on Dec. 27 is under investigation. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

Graffiti was reported on the side of a building in the 500 block of Northwest West Street at 4:05 p.m. on Dec. 27. 

 

Trespassed From Property 

• A man who was reportedly “dancing in the roadway” in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 10:40 p.m. on Dec. 27 was trespassed from the area. 

• A case of trespassing was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just before 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 27. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 152 inmates, including 138 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 106 were reported male and 32 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
