Sirens: Bail set at $50K for woman who fled in stolen van; woman jailed for DUI with juvenile in vehicle; K9 Hector tracks down suspect

LEWIS COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT

Preliminary appearances

• Alrome Togamau Lutu, 23, Seattle, made a preliminary appearance July 16 for one count of second-degree organized retail theft after he and a female accomplice allegedly stole $1,946.60 in items from the Nike Clearance Store in Centralia on May 2. After identifying Lutu as the male suspect, police reportedly confirmed his identity by matching Facebook pictures of Lutu with alleged pictures of Lutu at the scene. A judge released Lutu on a $20,000 unsecured appearance bond and scheduled an arraignment hearing for July 23.

• Harley L. Dunfee, 32, Vancouver, made a preliminary appearance July 17 for one count each of attempting to elude a police vehicle and hit-and-run of an attended vehicle. The court set bail at $50,000 cash or bond and scheduled an arraignment hearing for July 23. Dunfee was captured by Olympia police and Thurston County sheriff’s deputies on May 11 after allegedly fleeing from the Napavine Police Department in a stolen Home Depot van. According to court documents, Dunfee was later admitted to the hospital after she said she’d ingested jewelry. Napavine police reportedly released Dunfee from custody while she was in the hospital, due to its expense. Dunfee had been wanted for arrest since May 28. CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Robert Clark, 34, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree malicious mischief after allegedly damaging a security door at a local medical facility in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at about 7:35 a.m. July 18.

• Milo Gordanier, 60, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for fourth-degree assault after allegedly assaulting and injuring a household/family member in the 100 block of South Silver Street at about 3 p.m. July 18.

• Jason L. Anderson, 52, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence, knowing possession of a controlled substance and use/delivery of drug paraphernalia in the 2300 block of North Pearl Street at about 6:09 p.m. July 18. Prior to his arrest, officers reportedly observed Anderson inside a running vehicle while exhibiting signs of recent drug use. Officers searched his vehicle and found suspected methamphetamine and marijuana. Anderson allegedly admitted to recently drinking alcohol and using marijuana before getting behind the wheel.

• Meagan L. Harris, 41, Ellensburg, was arrested for alleged DUI and reckless endangerment after driving from a residence near the 600 block of Jefferson Street at about 6:55 p.m. July 18. According to police, Harris reportedly left the residence “heavily intoxicated” and had a juvenile inside the vehicle. A Lewis County sheriff’s deputy located her vehicle on Interstate 5 and pulled her over. Centralia officers continued the DUI investigation until the Washington State Patrol took custody of Harris. The case was forwarded to Child Protective Services.

• Cristina J. Blacketer, 22, Olympia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree theft, knowing possession of a controlled substance and use/delivery of drug paraphernalia after she was allegedly caught shoplifting nearly $900 worth of merchandise from a store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 10:02 p.m. July 18. Blacketer was also allegedly found with suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at the time of her arrest. Jail staff allegedly found fentanyl concealed in her bra upon her booking into jail.

Agency assist

• Officer Daniel Cox and his K9 partner Hector assisted the Chehalis Police Department and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office in locating the suspect of a burglary in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. July 18. The suspect was also wanted on a felony arrest warrant. A short K9 track led officers to the location of the hiding suspect, who was arrested by Chehalis officers without incident.

Assault

• Fredrick Holm, 62, Centralia, was referred to the Centralia Municipal Court for fourth-degree assault after allegedly striking someone with a TV remote in the 2300 block of Scheuber Ridge Court at about 8:15 a.m. July 19.

Child abuse

• Officers investigated a report of possible child abuse in the 1400 block of Bella Rose Lane at about 5:50 p.m. July 17. Police said no further information was available at the time. The case remains under investigation.

Criminal trespass

• Sarah Brown, 34, Tenino, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged second-degree criminal trespass in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue at about 1:36 p.m. July 18.

DUI

• Daniel O. Luna Mendez, 33, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence near the corner of North Pearl Street and West Sixth Street at about 1:33 a.m. July 18.

• Gabriel Ramirez Bucio, 56, Chehalis, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue at about 11:56 p.m. July 18.

• Julio Chavez Moreno, 36, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence near the corner of West Main Street and South King Street at about 1:47 a.m. July 19.



• Steven R. Silva, 25, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence in the 500 block of North Pearl Street at about 12:56 a.m. July 20.

Fraud

• Officers investigated a potential identity theft and attempted theft in the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road at about 7:20 p.m. July 18. Police said the suspect allegedly tried to withdraw money from the victim’s bank account without their knowledge or permission.

Harassment

• Police received a report of harassment and threats of violence in the 1900 block of Johnson Road at about 6:56 p.m. July 17. The case is under investigation.

• Officers received a report of threats of physical harm over digital communications in the 1000 block of Elm Street at about 7:33 a.m. July 20. The case is under investigation.

Malicious mischief

• Christine Daquila, 32, Centralia, was referred to the Centralia Municipal Court for charges of third-degree malicious mischief in the 300 block of North Gold Street at about 9:37 a.m. July 17, after she allegedly damaged property of a local business.

Possession of liquor by minors

• Two juveniles were referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office for minor in possession after officers responded to a possible physical dispute in the 3000 block of Borst Avenue at about 1:12 a.m. July 20. Officers arrived and discovered the incident involved two juveniles. Both juveniles allegedly admitted to being intoxicated by liquor and lacked adult supervision.

Theft

• Officers investigated a reported theft at a local business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 10:05 a.m. July 17. The case remains under investigation.

• Officers investigated a reported theft at a local business in the 400 block of East Summa Street at about 2:54 p.m. July 17. The case remains under investigation.

Vehicle prowl

• A juvenile was referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office for criminal charges after a witness reportedly saw the juvenile attempting to unlawfully enter vehicles in the 200 block of West Center Street at about 2:07 a.m. July 19. Police said they’ve obtained security footage they believe shows multiple juveniles attempting to steal items from the vehicles.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of July 20, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 152 inmates, including 138 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 115 were reported male and 23 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and three were reported female.

• As of July 20, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 21 inmates. Of those, six were from Centralia, one was from Chehalis, one was from Elma and seven were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were three from the Lummi Nation and one each from the Quileute Nation, the Shoalwater Bay Tribe and the Skokomish Tribe.
