Sirens: Attempting to Elude Police; Assault; Harassment; Burglaries

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Harassment

• A case of harassment reported in the 600 block of Northwest Quincy Place just after 9:05 a.m. on Aug. 24 is under investigation.

 

Burglary

• A burglary of a business in the 600 block of South Market Boulevard was reported just before 12:25 p.m. on Aug. 24.

• A burglary of a business in the 400 block of Southwest 13th Street was reported at 7:50 a.m. on Aug. 25. The window was reportedly broken and the till was reported stolen.

• An air conditioning unit was reported stolen from a vacant house in the 100 block of Southwest Ninth Street at approximately 10:10 a.m. on Aug. 25.

 

Other Theft

• A motorcycle plate was reported stolen from the 700 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue just after 10:20 a.m. on Aug. 25.

• A vehicle theft reported in the 100 block of Ribelin Road at 7:10 a.m. on Aug. 26 is under investigation.

 

Vehicle Accident

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Aug. 24.

 

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 2500 block of North National Avenue at approximately 12:10 a.m. on Aug. 25. According to the reporting party, the driver of a red Ford stole a trailer from a residence and was towing it, prompting the reporting party to follow. When the reporting party confronted the driver, the Ford reportedly turned around, struck the reporting party’s car and drove off with the trailer.

 

Trespassing

• A disorderly subject was trespassed from a business in the 1700 block of North National Avenue just after 3:25 p.m. on Aug. 24.

• A subject who reportedly vandalized a truck and peed on the sidewalk in front of a property in the 200 block of Southwest First Street was trespassed from the property just before 8:05 p.m. on Aug. 24.

• Two disorderly subjects were trespassed from a property in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 25.

• A group of “disorderly boys” who were reportedly “using foul language while the Movies in the Park (was) going on” at Recreation Park in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street were trespassed from the park just after 9:05 p.m. on Aug. 25.

 

Suspicious Circumstances

• Just after 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 24, a caller reported seeing four subjects parked at Penny Playground “Gra(b) buckets out of their cars and put masks on, telling people ‘don’t look this way.” The same caller reported back 10 minutes later that the subjects were using water guns on the playground.

 

Assault

• A subject was cited for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 700 block of South Market Boulevard just after 4:35 p.m. on Aug. 25.

 

Dispute

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 200 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just after 8:35 p.m. on Aug. 25.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Burglary



• A burglary of three units at a storage business in the 200 block of East Main Street was reported just before 9:25 a.m. on Aug. 24. Two suspects were reportedly seen cutting the lock on a gate at the property and entering a building. Items from that building were later discovered to be missing. The case is under investigation.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• A camera and several items were stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 1010 block of North Tower Avenue just before 6:55 a.m. on Aug. 25.

Property valued in excess of $1,700 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of North Tower Avenue just before 6:55 a.m. on Aug. 25.

 

Other Theft

• Security cameras were reported stolen from the 800 block of West First Street at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Aug. 24.

• A package was reported stolen from a porch in the 800 block of North Pearl Street just after 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 25.

• A welder was reported stolen from a detached residential shed in the 800 block of K Street just after 6:10 p.m. on Aug. 25.

 

Vehicle Accidents

• Injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of North Pearl and East Carson streets just before 6 p.m. on Aug. 24.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue at 11:45 a.m. on Aug. 25.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of North Pearl and West Hanson Streets at 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 25.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 1200 block of Lum Road just after 4:10 p.m. on Aug. 25.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported on private property in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 25.

 

Attempt to Elude

• Officers attempted to contact a Centralia man about a fourth-degree assault, domestic violence case in the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 24, but the man fled from officers at a high rate of speed in an ATV. He was later located at his residence and was arrested for attempting to elude. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail just before 4:05 a.m. on Aug. 25.

 

Assault

• Minor injuries were reported following an assault in the 400 block of West Main Street just after 9:20 a.m. on Aug. 25. No arrests were made.

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 500 block of South King Street at approximately 6:35 p.m. on Aug. 25 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

Trespassing

• A disorderly woman was trespassed from a business in the 200 block of Centralia College Boulevard at 10:50 a.m. on Aug. 25.

 

Malicious Mischief

• Vandalism to private property was reported at the intersection of Centralia College Boulevard and South Washington Avenue just after 11:10 a.m. on Aug. 25.

• Vandalism to a vehicle was reported in the 700 block of South Gold Street just before 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 25.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 187 inmates, including 169 in the general population and 18 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 139 were reported male and 30 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 16 were reported male and two were reported female.
