Sirens: Arrested after fleeing police; bicycle, vehicle collide; convenience store burglary; juvenile arrested for threats

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Jessica Magnuson, 34, Chehalis, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree theft after allegedly shoplifting from a local business in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 11:29 p.m. Nov. 14.

• Dabe A. Alvarez-Price, 22, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly attempting to elude police in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 3:18 a.m. Nov. 16. Alvarez-Price, who was said to be driving recklessly, allegedly fled a traffic stop before officers apprehended him at a residence pursuant to a search warrant.

Accidents

• A bicyclist and a vehicle collided in the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue at about 12:31 p.m. Nov. 15.

Burglary

• The burglary of a convenience store was discovered in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 6:04 a.m. Nov. 15. The suspect reportedly broke the front glass door and stole several items.

Criminal trespassing

• Teresa Leys, 56, Centralia, was arrested in the 100 block of South Silver Street at about 12:19 p.m. Nov. 14 and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged second-degree criminal trespassing

• Vanessa Wilson, 48, Centralia, was arrested in the 500 block of North Railroad Avenue at about 10:51 p.m. Nov. 14 and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged second-degree criminal trespassing.

Harassment

• A juvenile was arrested in the 500 block of South King Street at about 1:01 p.m. Nov. 16 and booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center for allegedly making felonious threats of violence toward another juvenile via text message.

Malicious mischief

• Juveniles were reportedly seen spraypainting fences and property at the corner of H Street and West Third Street at about 11:32 a.m. Nov. 16. The juveniles left the area before law enforcement arrived.

• A juvenile was seen throwing a rock through the window of a building at the corner of West Fourth Street and North Pearl Street at about 2:19 p.m. Nov. 16. Charges of third-degree malicious mischief were reportedly referred to the Lewis County Juvenile Prosecutor.

• Vandalism was reported at the corner of West Fourth Street and North Pearl Street at about 7:29 p.m. Nov. 16. The case is under investigation.

Possession of drug paraphernalia



• Jonathan P. Church, 32, Centralia, was arrested in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue at about 1:43 p.m. Nov. 16 and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for third-degree driving with a suspended license and alleged possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sexual misconduct

• A report of sexual misconduct between two juveniles was under investigation in the 100 block of West Maple Street at about 9:30 p.m. Nov. 14.

Theft

• Theft from a local business was reported in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at about 4:24 p.m. Nov. 15.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Mark Thomas Snodderly, 58, Olympia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail after allegedly shoplifting from The Home Depot in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 2:36 p.m. Nov. 13. Snodderly had reportedly been trespassed from The Home Depot on a previous occasion.

Disorderly conduct

• A female was reportedly screaming and throwing things at vehicles driving by at the corner of Northeast Washington Avenue and Northeast Division Street at about 10:44 a.m. Nov. 10.

• James Scherr was issued a citation for alleged disorderly conduct, given a court date and released at the corner of North Market Boulevard and Northwest Front Street at about 7:53 a.m. Nov. 11.   

Theft

• Shoplifting occurred in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 5:01 p.m. Nov. 10. The male suspect was reportedly wearing glasses and a brown coat and was seen heading toward Taco Bell on foot.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Nov. 17, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 173 inmates, including 160 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 128 were reported male and 32 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Nov. 17, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 24 inmates. Of those, 10 were from Centralia and five were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were two inmates from the Lummi Nation, two from the Quileute Nation, two from the Tulalip Tribe and one each from the Suquamish, Skokomish and Shoalwater Bay Tribes.
