Mariya Zagorodnyaya, who was the subject of a Silver Alert issued by the Washington State Patrol on behalf of the Centralia Police Department Wednesday morning, has been located.

Deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the end of Little Hanaford Road at the entrance to TransAlta’s property east of Centralia just after 12:35 p.m. for “reports of a woman yelling for help inside her vehicle,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Zagorodnyaya, 80, had attempted to turn around at the end of Little Hanaford Road Tuesday evening and became stuck in a ditch that had water in it, according to the sheriff’s office.

Zagorodnyaya’s family were the ones who initially found her, according to the Centralia Police Department.

The Riverside Fire Authority responded, extricated her from the vehicle and transported her to Providence Centralia Hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.

Zagorodnyaya’s family reported her missing at approximately 10 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Centralia Police Department. They had last seen her at 7 p.m. near her church, where she reportedly drove by but did not stop, according to Washington State Patrol (WSP).

At the Centralia Police Department’s request, WSP issued a Silver Alert, a missing endangered person advisory for adults 60 or older, Wednesday morning.

“The Centralia Police Department wishes to thank the WSP for their timely response to our request for a Silver Alert,” the department stated in a news release Wednesday afternoon.
