Lewis County residents will have the opportunity to shred sensitive documents they no longer want or need at a special event in Vader on Saturday, May 17.
The event will take place in the parking lot shared by Little Crane Cafe and Dailey’s Mini Storage at 110 Seventh Ave. in Vader from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents are permitted to bring up to three bags or boxes of sensitive documents they would like shredded. The shredded paper will later be taken to a paper recycling facility for processing.
After customers place their documents in the waste container, the shredding truck driver will use an automated arm from the truck to lift the container, which will then be emptied into a mechanism that shreds the paper and sends it into the enclosed truck. Customers have the option to view their materials being shredded on a screen mounted outside the truck.
Anyone with questions about the shredding event may call 360-740-1451 or email swu@lewiscountywa.gov.
