Shootout at Centralia residence early Wednesday morning under investigation

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a shootout that occurred at a Centralia residence early Wednesday morning. 

The suspected aggressor, a 35-year-old man whose name was not released Wednesday, was struck by a bullet and ultimately transported to Harborview Medical Center. 

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting complaint at a residence in the 3300 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, according to the news release. 

“When law enforcement arrived, they learned a known 35-year-old male suspect entered the residence uninvited,” the sheriff’s office stated in the news release. “During the dispute which followed, both the suspect and one of the residents shot at each other, and the suspect was struck by a bullet.” 

The suspect was “conscious and alert” after being shot, according to the sheriff's office. 

An acquaintance drove him to Providence Centralia Hospital and he was later airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to the sheriff’s office.
