Seven Mat Cats take gold at Folkstyle Championships

The Twin City Wrestling Club competed at the WSWA State Folkstyle Championships on Sunday at the Tacoma Dome, and 22 Mat Cats came away with medals as top-7 finishers.

Over 125 clubs competed at the event, and across all weight classes, over 1,850 wrestlers competed.

Winston Walton (U6 50), Royce Rakevich (U8 85+), Adam Easley (U12 160+), and Robert Coates (Open 97Kg) finished as state champions, while Alayan Anau (Girls 3rd-5th 98), Kane Ragsac (U6 37-40), Landon MacNeil (U6 41-45), and Jaxon Martinez (U6 42-45) finished as runner-ups.



Adalina Nommensen (Girls K-2nd 62), Skylar Powell (Girls 3rd-5th), Quentin Moss (U8 85+), and Ryker Rakevich (U12 160) took home bronze medals, while Addie Ojard (Girls K-2nd 68), Ella Greenwood (Girls 3rd-5th 78), and Gunnar Vlach (U12 160) finished fourth.

Other medalists included Thomas Ritchey (U12 78) and Brayden Wheeler (U12 160), who finished fifth, Kimber Wait (Girls 3rd-5th 108), Mile Horny (U12 98), and Kaiden Coates (U12 117), who took sixth, and Luke Vizgaudis (U8 45) and Kash Davis (U10 59), who placed seventh.
