The Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET) seized seven firearms, ammunition, cocaine and more during the arrest of a Chehalis man on Wednesday, April 23.
JNET detectives served a judicially authorized search warrant at the Chehalis residence of Quincy E. Burton to search for guns and drugs, according to a news release from JNET.
A criminal investigation into Burton was initiated after he was identified as a low-level drug dealer in Chehalis who was always armed with a firearm, according to the release.
As a convicted felon, Burton is prohibited from possessing firearms.
During the service of the search warrant, seven firearms were recovered along with ammunition, two vests with ballistic armor and gun parts.
Of the recovered firearms, two were pistols, four were rifles and one was a shotgun.
“It was discovered that one of the firearms had an obliterated serial number,” JNET stated in the release. “Cocaine, scales and packaging material were also located, which is indicative of drug dealing.”
Burton was booked into the Lewis County Jail.
This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible, according to JNET.
JNET is made up of detectives and agents from the Centralia and Chehalis police departments, the Washington state Department of Corrections and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
