The WSU Lewis County Master Gardeners are inviting the public to two free seed saving classes this September, a news release announced.
These hands-on sessions will teach gardeners how to select, collect, clean and store seeds from common vegetables and flowers. Both classes are open to all experience levels and provide practical, research‑based guidance from trained Master Gardener volunteers.
The first class will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 19 at the Borst Demonstration Garden in Centralia. A second session will follow at 10 a.m. on Sept. 26 at the Salkum Timberland Library, reflecting the Master Gardeners’ commitment to offering classes throughout Lewis County, including East Lewis County communities, according to the release.
Participants will learn why saving seeds supports resilient gardens and best practices for maintaining seed viability. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions and enjoy this opportunity to deepen their gardening skills with the support of local WSU Master Gardeners.
