Law enforcement is continuing its search for a kayaker reported missing from Preachers Slough in Grays Harbor County on Tuesday.

The slough connects to the Chehalis River.

According to the Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office, Jeffrey A. Damasiewicz, 63, departed from Preachers Slough in a blue kayak around 3 p.m. Tuesday. He did not return.

Search efforts have included the Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Aberdeen Police Department and the U.S. Coast Guard.

“We are continuing our efforts today to locate Jeffrey Damasiewicz,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post on Friday. “We currently have three law enforcement boats and two drones assisting in the search and the Coast Guard has a helicopter above.”

Anyone with information on Damasiewicz’s blue kayak was told to contact Grays Harbor 911 or the non-emergency dispatch center at 360-533-8765.

“The location of the kayak could help us in locating Mr. Damasiewicz,” the sheriff’s office said.
