Schools in Lewis County to host free child developmental screenings this spring

Posted

Lewis County parents and guardians with children ages 5 and under can attend free child developmental screenings at their local school district this spring.

Areas screened include cognition, motor skills, speech, hearing and social behavior.

The screenings are organized by the special education co-op Capital Region Educational Service District 113, which serves small and rural school districts in Lewis, Thurston and Grays Harbor counties.

Contact the child’s residential school district to schedule an appointment for a screening.

If your family is living in a temporary situation, you can contact the district where you’re staying to attend a screening.

If you are unable to attend a screening at your home district, you can schedule with another district, according to the co-op.

Screening times, dates and locations, as well as contact information for each district, is listed below.
