Saldana ahead of House in Morton School Board race

Incumbent Pat Saldana appears to have emerged as the victor in a race for a seat on the Morton School Board. 

Saldana was ahead of challenger Victoria House with 264 votes to House’s 193 after preliminary results were announced by the Lewis County Auditor’s Office on Tuesday night. 

The race is for Director Position 4, an at-large seat. 



Meanwhile, Sheli Harbaugh and Scott Coleman won seats on the board running unopposed. 

The preliminary count included the results of 13,338 ballots. The Lewis County Auditor’s Office estimated there were still 701 ballots left to count on election night, with an estimated total voter turnout of 24.15%.

The next ballot count will be released at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Election certification will take place on Nov. 28.
