County Measures:
Lewis County Fire Protection District No. 3
Proposition No. 1: Levy Lid Lift
APPROVED: 46.11%; 296 votes
REJECTED: 53.89%; 346 votes
The Mossyrock Fire Department’s proposed levy lid lift to increase funding for emergency services is failing, as of Tuesday night.
The district’s current levy rate in 2025 is approximately 34 cents. Assuming the measure fails, the current tax levy will remain subject to the statutory 1% limit on property tax increases.
If passed, the measure would have authorized the district to “establish its regular property tax levy at 90 cents per $1,000 of assessed value to be assessed in 2025 and collected in 2026,” according to the measure’s text.
“Your Fire District Board of Commissioners has determined that this proposition is necessary to maintain an effective level of services, fire fighter staffing, equipment and facilities in light of rising costs and increasing service demands,” the district wrote in an explanatory statement before Election Day.
Lewis County Fire Protection District No. 14

NO: 19.95%; 88 votes
Randle Fire and EMS is close to passing the re-authorization of its emergency medical services levy, as of Tuesday night.
If passed, the measure would authorize the district to “impose a regular property tax levy of up to $0.35 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation for each of six consecutive years beginning with the levy in 2025, to be collected in 2026 through 2031, for the purpose of providing emergency medical services,” according to the measure’s text.
The district’s current EMS Levy expires on Dec. 31.
