The 2025 Roco Ranch Film Festival, organized by John Roco, will be held at the Centralia Train Depot on April 3.

Tickets can be purchased until the day before the event for $5 each.

Doors open at 1:15 p.m. with films from 1:30 p.m. until the awards at 7:20 p.m. After attendees leave, there will be an evening showing of the feature winner, “The House,” a documentary on sexual predators. St. Martin’s University professor Troy Kirby produced this film, which has been shown elsewhere in Washington state as well as California, according to a news release from Roco.

“I am truly excited of the lineup this year; we have community involvement in documentaries, not just ‘The House,’ but also in ‘Last of the Nobodies,’ wherein rappers from Montana come together to truly put together a special project with their creative voices, on an island in the middle of a lake,” Roco stated in the news release. “Filmmaker Colter Olmstead will journey here to receive his documentary short award. Last year’s winner, not making it off being snowed in from Idaho with his Sci-Fi feel good short, ‘Come Back to Me,’ Kim Haskell, had plans for a second try journey here this year. But truly exciting are the student films, a documentary on art by Dayra Lucia Kaneshiro, as well as a COVID response film from Portland State University, a crew that went from concept to film with director Brandon Tyler Marx. The westerns from Europe (Spain and Ukraine) truly hit the mark in the tradition of Clint Eastwood’s series, and the journey film from London had significant elements of time and relationship that truly hit a chord. This is a wonderful festival.”

Most films are PG-13 with a few G and one R-rated for violence, sexual content and nudity.
