Rochester woman Josefina O. Gonzalez-Knoerr, 50, was transported to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview after her Honda CR-V was struck by another vehicle while driving south on Interstate 5, according to a release from the Washington State Patrol.

The incident occurred around 11:20 a.m., Monday, Sept. 29.

According to the state patrol, both Gonzalez-Knoerr’s CR-V and a Toyota Tundra driven by Charles H. Harrington were traveling south on I-5 near the Toutle River Rest Area when the Tundra “swerved right, overcorrected to the left” and struck the CR-V.

Harrington, 78, of Brookings, Oregon, and his passenger, Sue, 69, were both uninjured, according to the state patrol. Gonzalez-Knoerr’s injuries were not disclosed.

Harrington was cited for improper lane usage.

All three persons were reportedly wearing seatbelts. No drugs or alcohol were said to be involved in the incident.
